| “ | Eureka is a glorious blend of pop, rock, punk, and folk. Rooney play some pretty infectious tunes this disc, immediately starting with the opener, "Holdin' On". From there, this band continues to pour heart into every track that follows. "I Can't Get Enough" is instantly upbeat and catchy, "Into The Blue" is a sadly beautiful piano number, and "The Hunch" feels like a cross between the Beatles and Panic! At The Disco. The largely acoustic "I Don't Wanna Lose You" also stands out, as do the instrumentals in general with this album. There's no denying that Rooney are talented musicians that know how to write a good record. These songs have a large audience range for appeal, so any one should look these guys up just in case Eureka could become your next favorite disc. Luckily for us, we had the chance to review the deluxe edition, so we can tell you about the bonus tracks. There are three: acoustic versions of "Gone" and "I Don't Wanna Lose You", as well as a b-side titled "Can't Put Your Heart Around Everyone". As a complete collection, this is a damn entertaining record. Eureka successfully reels in new listeners and keeps their attention from start to finish. If you didn't know of Rooney before, now is a good time to discover their tunes. | ” |
