Steve Tibbetts is an American guitarist, who also plays mandolin, kalimba, and synthesizer, even if he rarely uses these instruments through his various records. He's both an excellent electric and acoustic guitar player and uses much of the resources that studio technology offers. There's also an ethnic/world dimension in his music, especially with the recurrent use of percussions (with the help of Marc Anderson) and other exotic instruments.

Shadowfax was a musical group, best known for their albums Shadowfax and Folksongs for a Nuclear Village. In 1988 they won the Grammy for Best New Age Performance for Folksongs for a Nuclear Village. The group formed in 1972 and disbanded after 1995 when Lyricon player and leader Chuck Greenberg died of a heart attack.

"Macalla" is a 1985 musical album by Irish folk group Clannad. It is their ninth album and became prominent with a collaboration between Clannad's singer Moya Brennan and U2 vocalist Bono on the enchanting duet In a Lifetime. Furthermore, it featured some internationally renowned artists such as art rock saxophone player Mel Collins, an ex-King Crimson member and famous for his solo on The Rolling Stones' "Miss You", and Anton Corbijn's photography.
