A Light in the Trees is Brian’s first album. It has been out of print for many years.

I have found Brian Crain’s CDs to be a breath of fresh air. “Northern Sky” is Crain’s fifth album, and consists of piano accompanied by synth. All of the songs are fairly slow and the melodies are simple and straight-forward. If I had to compare Brian Crain’s music to anyone’s, it would be Wayne Gratz’s (one of my favorites). A few of his pieces also remind me of early-Yanni at his poignant best - “Northern Sky” fits this category with its heart-tugging melody and unfettered emotion. No new ground is broken, but I’m sure none was intended to be. This is sweet, relaxing, heartfelt music that is effective in the background, but can also stand alone as a primary focus. A favorite recording of massage therapists all over the country, it is easy to imagine sailing away to bliss listening to Crain’s music with or without a great massage!

Brian’s Spring Symphonies remind us what we love most about orchestral music. If you are a current fan, you will love this natural evolution of Brian’s impassioned music. If you are not familiar with Brian Crain, you’re about to discover a true gem right here in the Inland Northwest, who is already internationally popular.

Telling the story of Buddha through musical expression creates a beautifully descriptive album for the senses. Exotic flutes, vocal textures, and the sounds of India guide the listener to spiritual enlightenment.

Chet Atkins’ 1987 instrumental release SAILS finds the guitarist in a pop/jazz setting. Blurring the lines between his country roots and a jazzy sensibility, Atkins creates music that’s both ethereal and introspective.

There’s a slick patina of sound supported not only by Atkins’ guitar but also by keyboards, strings, horns and percussion; the result is a rich and diverse layering of chords and rhythms combined with Atkins’ lyrical guitar work. Like An Endless River, is a another release in the Oceanic Tantra series. It allows “”a way to explore sexuality through rituals, music, trance dance, theater, and individual creative expression. . .”"
Tracks are lovingly to the point: the opener, “”Invocation,”" sets a respectful tone in a calling of the Mother Goddess with chants, drums, and ancient African instruments. “”Intimacy”" and “”Divine Passion”" are next, using violin, flute, guitar, and ultimately the tabla tarong.
“”Opening of the Heart”" is the soundtrack for “”bringing sexual energy to the heart,”" with harp and drums led by NYC “”urban shaman”" vocalist Serpentine. “”Liberation”" and the title track utilize more of the tabla tarong, harp, and flutes, as well as the Native American drum. “”The Temple”" and “”From Deep Within”" round out the recording, grounding the listener and enabling him or her to muse over the messages and impressions imparted in the previous tracks. Drummers from Gabrielle Roth’s group, the Mirrors, are guests. Tantra is called the “”path of the heart,”" and Like An Endless River represents some of the infinite energy that can be experienced and replenished on that journey.

This New age hawaiian music with precussion, the sounds of naure and the whales move you into deep trance states. This is an experience more than a musical recording some songs are for mind journeys, some are for movement of the body, heart and mind.

Nothing can describe the feeling when you FINALLY find out the name of this album, and that piece of music that has been haunting you for MONTHS finally has a name.

Australian readers won’t be familiar with this album, but if they were to hear it, it would be instantly recognisable. Why? Because they’ve heard “Ameno (Remix)” time and time again in the Optus “The Power of Yes” advertising campaign on television. If you’re ever wondered what that bit of music was, then you really should buy this CD. I myself searched for months for what this was - and even went to the stage of calling the company that ran the advertisements to find out.

There’s nothing I can do to describe this album, other than to mention what I do with it. It’s one of my favourite albums to put on, and then sit down, close my eyes and be truly lost in the ambient and yet strangely epic sound. Listening to this album, choruses well up around you as you listen, and the sound is so full and rounded that you almost feel trapped in such a beautiful piece of art.

I can’t recommend this CD highly enough. If you like albums such as Deep Forest or especially Enigma with their “epic” quality, then give this a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
