2008 album from this French project headed by Eric Levi. Era’s music mixes Classical, Opera, and Gregorian chants with other contemporary styles. Lyrics are often chants in an imaginary language reminiscent of Latin. The music could be described as New Age and may be considered similar to artists such as Enigma and Deep Forest. Their music was used in the soundtrack for the film Les Visiteurs and in Sylvester Stallone’s Driven. 10 tracks including a bonus remix of the track ‘Come Into My World’.

Most of the music on this CD was originally recorded for David Lynch’s made for cable TV special “Industrial Symphony No. 1″. Some of the songs were later used on “Twin Peaks”, where Julee Cruise ocassionally appeared as the Roadhouse Singer. Julee has a very ethereal voice, which is entirely appropriate for this album. The songs all have lyrics by David Lynch, with music by Angelo Badalamenti. The first thing you are likely to notice about the songs is that the words don’t rhyme. That’s pretty unusual, but somehow it works anyway. All the songs are love songs, by the way. The song “Falling” usually get the most attention, because it was later the theme song for “Twin Peaks”, but the best song here is easily “Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart”. Not coincidentally, it also the closest thing here to a traditional song, in that it actually has a repeated chorus. This is actually a beautiful album, in it’s own way. Oh, and it’s better than the “Twin Peaks” soundtrack.

Analog and digital technologies are blended using keyboards and percussion and more than one hundred timbres, intermingling melodies with rhythmic elements, sax, female vocals, and choir. (On a more personal note - I happened across Corciolli while searching for some other albums that had been requested. Needless to say, this is an album that personally blew me away. Most specifically, Real Dancer. Download it and you won’t be sorry. I just wish I had known about him long before now.)

This album delivers inspired melodies developed from rhythms and hypnotic loops, complemented by tribal and Gregorian chants, samplers and ethereal keyboards. Different from Corciolli’s other works, Art of Seduction is full of groove; stronger, with embracing percussive lines. The album exudes sensual sonority, particularly on the tracks “Book of Memories,” “Hypnotize Me” and “Vapor.” Corciolli develops a closer relationship with lounge music and chill out styles, dotted with instrumental pop and jazzy atmospheres, translating each theme with refinement and diversity.

His music is a combination of various contemporary soft instruments, including the piano, synthesizer, flute, clarinet, etc. I listen to Steve’s music to get my R&R; rest and relaxation; his music conjures up feeling of hope and resolution and peace. As a friend during his high school days, I recall this gifted person share his life experience through his music as a gift. This is a musical testament to the effects of being brought up in one of the most beautiful enclaves of natural beauty (Boulder, Colorado) and human society’s participation in it; his music is a reflection of that participation; a gifted artist shares his heart to the world.

If you like Jazz, world music, and New Age, then this is another great album for you. This is yet another outstanding album from Oystein. It’s easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of emotion from the music. This album is perfect for relaxing or spending romantic time with your significant other. I also suggest checking out Global House, but Bridge seems to be a little more mature. The 30 second clips online don’t do the album justice, but they do give you a small taste of what’s on the album.
