Deacon Blue were one of Britains top bands in the nineties, this compilation features all the big hits and one or two, weaker fillers. Personally, I think Deacon Blue are one of Britains most underated bands, the best of the material on this release support this theory.
At times they could be a bit too “poppy”, “Queen of the New Year” for example, but tracks such as, “Dignity”, “Wages Day”, “Real Gone Kid”, “Loaded”, “Fergus Sings The Blues”, “Your Swaying Arms”, and my favourite, “Chocolate Girl” are all classic tunes.
At worst you could maybe describe this material as inoffensive, but if you're of an age that you can remember Deacon Blue, and recall that you quite liked some of their stuff, then buy this album and be reminded of the quality that was Deacon Blue.

The Waterboys are a band formed in 1983 by Mike Scott. The band's membership, past and present, has been composed mainly of musicians from Ireland and Britain.
London, Dublin, Spiddal, and Findhorn have all served as a home for the group. The band has played in a number of different styles, but most often their music can be described as a mix of Celtic folk music with rock and roll, or folk rock. After ten years of recording and touring, the band dissolved in 1993 and Scott pursued a solo career. The band reformed in 2000, and continues to release albums and tour worldwide. Scott himself emphasizes a continuity between The Waterboys and his solo work, saying that "To me there's no difference between Mike Scott and the Waterboys; they both mean the same thing. They mean myself and whoever are my current travelling musical companions."

David Bowie | Best Of Bowie Import CD
208Mb | 192Kbps | 39 Tracks
208Mb | 192Kbps | 39 Tracks
David Bowie first caught the eye and ear of the public in the autumn of 1969, when his space-age mini-melodrama "Space Oddity" reached the top five of the UK singles chart. After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam-rock era under the guise of the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single "Starman" and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The relatively short-lived Ziggy persona epitomised a career defined by consistent musical innovation, reinvention and striking visual presentation. ...

Billy Idol's first hits collection, Idol Songs: 11 of the Best, was released in Europe in 1988, while he was still a commanding presence on the charts. The U.S. didn't see a compilation on Idol until 2001. That collection includes other hits (and misses) which are not on this one, most notably his 1990 smash "Cradle of Love" and its followup, "L.A. Woman." This collection, however, includes rare single edits and remixes not available on the 2001 release. First of all, Billy Idol's biggest hit, 1987's "Mony Mony," was released as a live single. That live single was the version that topped the U.S. charts, and is included on this disc. On the 2001 release, however, the original studio version is included, and that version lacks the muscle (and Steve Stevens' relentless guitar licks) found on the live version. Second, this disc includes the single remix of "Catch My Fall," which was the final single released from Rebel Yell. The 2001 set includes the original album version. This disc also includes shorter, more edited versions of "Eyes Without a Face," "Don't Need a Gun," "Flesh for Fantasy," "White Wedding," and "Dancing With Myself." Until 2001, then, this was the only Idol hits collection on the market. If one doesn't mind not having the single remix of "Catch My Fall" and the live version of "Mony Mony," go with the 2001 release.

This live recording of Thin Lizzy is a MUST for any fan of hard driving 70's rock music. In my opinion, this original lineup of Lynott, Brian Downey on drums, and the dynamic guitar duo of Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham (who patented that unique lead/rhythm chorusing sound of guitar layering)was Lizzy at its finest. Of course, Phil Lynott was masterful with his soulful baritone voice, and this recording is one of those where many of the live perfomances exceed the studio versions. As live titles go...this one ranks up there with UFO's Strangers In The Night & Frampton 'Alive. Incidentally... the latter two are also musts for your collection of timeless 70's LIVE!

Richie proves he could go it alone!
Fresh off their last two hugely successful albums, Slippery When Wet and New Jersey respectively, Bon Jovi decided to take a much deserved break in the early 1990's. Jon Bon Jovi released his first solo album, Blaze of Glory in 1990, while guitarist Richie Sambora, who co-wrote nearly all of the band's biggest hits, released his first solo album, Stranger In This Town, in 1991. Many times when a guitarist in a successful band, particularly one that plays hard rock, releases a solo album, the music presented is more based on the guitarist's six-string talents rather than the music. However, while there is more guitar here than on the Bon Jovi albums, Richie's solo debut is all about the songs. Stranger In This Town is a strong album containing both the anthems and power ballads that Bon Jovi made famous but also a couple ventures into the blues which are among the best tracks.

Billy Talent - Billy Talent II - 2006
Genre: Rock/Punk | MP3 320 Kbps | 106 MB
*****Recommended *****
Toronto-based quartet Billy Talent magnificent second album 'Billy Talent II', which sees the band taking punk to new heights, amplifying the explosive energy and earnest lyricism that made their debut an international sensation.
Powerful new songs like 'Devil In A Midnight Mass', 'Surrender' and 'Red Flag' are alive with the band's personal blend of angular angst and irresistible popcraft, all given distinctive focus via singer Ben Kowalewicz' inventive, issues-oriented songwriting. Recorded last winter at Bryan Adams' Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, Billy Talent II was produced by Gavin Brown, who previously helmed the band's acclaimed eponymous debut, with co-production from guitarist Ian D'Sa.
