Charlie Sexton is a bit of an odd duck- guitar slinger prodigy to the stars with little previous indication that he was capable of an album like this. Haunting, sepia toned production by Dan Lanois alumni Malcolm Burns combined with superbly well arranged, well written tunes make this one those overlooked masterpieces. Reams of intricately woven guitars, mandolins, atmospheric washes and heartfelt singing make for a stirring experience.

Whiteout is a comic book limited series by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber. It was originally released in four issues during 1998, by Oni Press and then collected into a trade paperback. A film adaptation of the series is set to be released on September 11, 2009.

Claire Pelletier est une chanteuse québécoise. Née en 1959, elle vit son enfance dans le petit village de Saint-Pascal-de-Kamouraska au Bas-Saint-Laurent. Tout d'abord membre du groupe folklorique 'Tracadièche' avec Raymond Allard et Dan Paquet puis choriste pour plusieurs artistes québécois (Michel Rivard, Louise Forestier, Pierre Flynn, Richard Séguin, Claude Dubois, Gilles Bélanger…,), elle fait ses premières armes sur le devant de la scène dans la distribution des spectacles Chez Gérard en reprise et De Félix à Desjardins où elle interprète des classiques de la chanson française et québécoise. Avec ses complices, son mari le compositeur, arrangeur et réalisateur Pierre Duchesne et le parolier Marc Chabot, aussi professeur de philosophie, elle prépare son premier album solo, Murmures d'histoire, en 1996, qui présente des pièces ayant pour thème la philosophie, l'Histoire (particulièrement de l'époque médiévale), les légendes amérindiennes ou des mélodies traditionnelles, dans une approche qui n'est pas sans rappeler Loreena McKennitt et la musique néo-celtique à la Clannad.

At work I listen to New Age music via Internet radio. Basically, it's background "noise" to help me concentrate. However, one song in particular caught my attention - enough to make me stop what I was doing, research the singer and order the CD (with fingers crossed). I was not disappointed. Words that come to mind when I listen to "Galileo" are haunting, lilting, melodic, romantic. It is everything I look for in Celtic/New Age music and then some. I do not speak French - but that has not deterred me one iota from enjoying Celtic music sung in French by the lovely voice of Claire Pelletier. It doesn't get better, and I cannot wait to buy more by this artist. My complaint? I wish I could find out more about her, but all the Internet sites I've found are in French.
