Wayne Shorter - JuJu (1964)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz --> 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 923 Mb, 274 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Jazz, Hard-bop, Post Bop | Filesonic + FilePost
Blue Note BST-84182 - King Records Japan (1978)

One of the most exciting and innovative voices in modem jazz, Wayne Shorter was in his final weeks with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers before joining Miles Davis when he recorded this exceptional album with John Coltrane's Rolls Royce rhythm section. His angular improvisations and unique compositions take a left turn at every opportunity, but Shorter makes it all work magnificently. Includes two alternate takes.

The CD sounds fine, as long as you don't hear the LP.

Cisco/Blue Note CLP 7051/BLP 84176 (2007) | Mastered by Kevin Gray and Robert Pincus @ AcousTech

When he expatriated to Scandinavia just before this session in Paris was recorded, Dexter Gordon said he was liberated in many ways, as a jazz musician and as a human being. This is reflected in the lengthy track on this album, a testament to that newly found freedom.

Todd Rundgren brought in legendary backup vocal duo Flo & Eddie as well as a cellist, two horn players, and himself on keyboards. The end result is simply fantastic, fusing the post-punk charge of the first two albums with a new synth-based approach that works wonders.

At only 32 and a half minutes, but Intermodulation still remains a precious set of music from these two great modern jazz musicians.

"SHUT UP! NOTHING IS BETTER THAN TOMMYWHOSNEXTQUADROPHENIA". Stop. Relax and take a breath.

This "odd" compilation of songs is so crazily strong you wonder why (even after reading Townshend's liner notes explanations) each one wasn't included *somewhere* on earlier regular releases. It could have provided them some welcome reputation for more Beatle-esq variety on otherwise "normal" releases.

Anthony Williams - Spring (1965)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz --> 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 768 Mb, 268 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Free Jazz, Post Bop, Hard Bop | Filesonic + Wupload
Blue Note BST-84216 - King Records Japan (1977)

Drummer Tony Williams recorded SPRING, his groundbreaking sophomore LP, when he was only 19 years old. Despite his youth, however, he was already a veteran of the jazz scene, having played with luminaries such as Miles Davis, Jackie Maclean, and Eric Dolphy. His played all over the kit, and though his tricky, unorthodox time-keeping might sometimes give the impression of wild unpredictability, he always managed to keep a tight rein over the momentum of any session in which he participated. His work on SPRING is only surpassed by his equally mesmerizing playing on Eric Dolphy's seminal OUT TO LUNCH, to which SPRING is often compared. He is accompanied here by Wayne Shorter, Gary Peacock, and Sam Rivers.

The Who - Who's Next, New York Record Plant Sessions + Live at the Young Vic Theatre, London (26 April 1971)

Styles: Rock | Filesonic + Wupload
Polydor Ltd Records (2003)

If you're a fan of The Who "Live At Leeds" and "Live At The Isle Of Wight", the 'Live at the Young Vic' is a real treat. The sound quality is excellent, The Who play great, and you get rare 'live' renditions of songs from "Who's Next" that don't show up anywhere else.

Grant Green - Live at the Lighthouse (1972)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz & 16-bit/44.1kHz | FLAC (Tracks), artworks | Stereo | 1,5 Gb, 472 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Styles: Soul-Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Jazz-Funk | Filesonic + Wupload
Blue Note Records BN-LA037-G2

Some of Grant Green's hottest moments as a jazz-funk bandleader came on his live records of the era, which were filled with extended, smoking grooves and gritty ensemble interplay. Live at the Lighthouse makes a fine companion piece to the excellent Alive!, though there are some subtle differences which give the album its own distinct flavor.

Duke Jordan Trio - Flight to Denmark (1974)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz --> 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 0,98 Gb, 272 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Jazz, Hard-bop, Bop | Filesonic + Wupload
SteepleChase Records CCD 1011 (Holland)

This is Duke Jordan at his most magnificent, with the ever-able Vinding and expert Thigpen playing their professional roles perfectly, producing perhaps the second best effort (next to Flight to Jordan from 13 years hence) from the famed bop pianist.

Dead Can Dance - Aion (1990)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz --> 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 768 Gb, 221 Gb | 5% RAR Recovery
Modern Classical, Gothic, Ethnic Fusion, Ambient | Filesonic + Wupload
4AD/Vinyl 180 Records (2011)

Long before No Doubt brought back ska and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy resurrected swing, Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry were making music that recalled an earlier time. How early? Try the Renaissance. Everything old--really old--is new again on Aion, the band's fifth and arguably finest album.
