Placebo - 3 (1974)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz + 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 849 Mb, 250 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Styles: Jazz-Funk, Fusion | Filesonic + FilePost
Harvest Records 2009 re-issue

Marc Moulin started off playing piano in the 60's all over Europe and then started a band called Placebo. Influenced by Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, he pushed the boundries of acid jazz in the 70's, and is still quite a force today. Lot's of breaks and beats, funky basslines, synths, horn arrangements and fender rhodes for days. So damn good.

Miles Davis - Big Fun (1974)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz + 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 1,99 Gb, 571 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Styles: Jazz-Funk, Fusion | Filesonic + FilePost
US Columbia Records

Despite the presence of classic tracks like Joe Zawinul's "Great Expectations," Big Fun feels like the compendium of sources it is. These tracks are all outtakes from other sessions, most notably Bitches Brew, On the Corner, and others. The other element is that many of these tracks appeared in different versions elsewhere. These were second takes, or the unedited takes before producer Teo Macero and Miles were able to edit them, cut and paste their parts into other things, or whatever. That is not to say the album should be dismissed. Despite the numerous lineups and uneven flow of the tracks, there does remain some outstanding playing and composing here. Most notably is "Great Expectations" from 1969, which opens the album.

"Big Fun" is an incredible work of fusion that's almost guaranteed to get heavy rotation on your system.

The Clash - Combat Rock (1982)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz + 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 993 Mb, 288 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Styles: Rock, Pop/Rock | Filesonic + FilePost
CBS Records (Holland)

On the surface of things, Combat Rock appears to be a retreat from the sprawling stylistic explorations of London Calling and Sandinista! The pounding arena rock of "Should I Stay or Should I Go" makes the Clash sound like an arena rock band, and much of the album boasts a muscular, heavy sound courtesy of producer Glyn Johns. But things aren't quite that simple.

Another great pressing !!!

Styles: Rock, Reggae, Jazz, Mock gospel, Rockabilly, Folk, Dub, Rhythm and Blues, Calypso, Rap | RapidShare Download
UK CBS Records FSLN 1

Sandinista! is a stylistic and topical potpourri that anticipates the "world music" trend of the late '80s and early '90s. The rock music world hailed Sandinista! as a masterpiece. John Piccarella, in a review headlined "The Clash Drop The Big One" and giving the album the highest possible rating of five stars, argues that in effect, the band said "to hell with Clash style, there's a world out there."

You will not be disappointed by this record, the soundstage is huge, very huge. Enjoy !!!

Head Hunters was a pivotal point in Herbie Hancock's career, bringing him into the vanguard of jazz fusion. Hancock had pushed avant-garde boundaries on his own albums and with Miles Davis, but he had never devoted himself to the groove as he did on Head Hunters.

Great pressing for this classic !!!

Bobby Hutcherson - Dialogue (1965)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz + 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Mono | 380 Mb, 134 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Styles: Vibraphone/Marimba Jazz, Post-Bop, Hard Bop | RapidShare Download
Blue Note Records BLP 4198 Mastered by Rudy Van Gelder

Easily one of jazz's greatest vibraphonists, Bobby Hutcherson epitomized his instrument in relation to the era in which he came of age the way Lionel Hampton did with swing or Milt Jackson with bop. He isn't as well-known as those two forebears, perhaps because he started out in less-accessible territory when he emerged in the '60s playing cerebral, challenging modern jazz that often bordered on avant-garde.
Coming fresh on the heels of his groundbreaking work with Eric Dolphy, Bobby Hutcherson's debut album is a masterpiece of "new thing" avant-garde jazz, not really free but way beyond standard hard bop.

John Coltrane - Interstellar Space (1974)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz + 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 796 Mb, 292 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery
Styles: Freel Jazz, Avant-Garde Jazz | RapidShare Download
Impulse! Records

Interstellar Space consists of an extended duet suite in four parts with the drummer Rashied Ali, and was recorded at the Van Gelder Studios on February 22, 1967, the week after the session that produced Stellar Regions. As a result, the melodies often overlap; "Venus" has the same melody as the title track of the previous LP, "Mars" quotes the melody of what became known as "Iris", and many note choices and runs are similar. The album is an important example of highly improvised free jazz, which was Coltrane's principal interest in the latter part of his career. Coltrane's improvisations are thus extremely free here, stating tacit modes and harmonies briefly and modulating constantly, fitting extremely dense, twisting expressions into breath-length phrases.

This set of duets by tenor saxophonist John Coltrane and drummer Rashied Ali are full of fire, emotion and constant abstract invention.

Continuing the Tijuana Brass meets Giant Sand and Ennio Morricone in a dark neuvo-waveo spaghetti Western approach they've gradually refined over the past two albums, multi-instrumentalists John Convertino and Joey Burns keep exploring terrain they've uniquely staked out. While not as cinematic, sprawling, and impressive as 1998's The Black Light, the duo create vivid soundscapes as dry, hot, and shimmering as the weather of their Tucson, Arizona home.

Belgian keyboardist Marc Moulin has been a jazz craftsman for more than three decades. A leader in the field of acid jazz, he began his career by playing the piano in the '60s throughout Europe. During the following decade, he established a band known as Placebo. By 1974, he had made a trio of albums, influenced by such masters of jazz as Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock.

Considered by many reviewers as her masterpiece, 1985's Hounds of Love is no less experimental from a production standpoint. Not only did she produce it herself, but for this album, stung by the huge costs she had run up hiring studio space for The Dreaming, she built a private 48 track studio near her home where she could work at her own pace.

Blue Note Records BLP 4132 Mastered by Rudy Van Gelder

Consisting purely of jazz versions of African American spirituals, it is one of a series of theme records recorded by the guitarist in 1962.
From the original liner notes: "Green has made no attempt here to recreate the five spirituals he plays in anything resembling their original context, nor has he tried to duplicate their often pallid manifestation on the concert stage. He has approached them with affection, but as music to be played in his style. The result is a fascinating combination: the techniques of modern jazz, blues, and gospel, all applied to the spiritual." - Joe Goldberg

Another Green's Classic. Enjoy!!!
