Label: Apache / Wea | Chanson / Pop | April 1987 | 9 Tracks | RAR 3% Rec.

"Babacar" is a 1987 song recorded by French singer France Gall. Written by Michel Berger, it was the first single from the album of the same name. Released on 3 April 1987, it achieved success, reaching the top 20 in France and Germany. France Gall (born Isabelle Geneviève Marie Anne Gall on 9 October 1947 in Paris, France) is a popular French yé-yé singer. The first airplay of France's first single "Ne sois pas si bête" ("Don't Be So Stupid"), occurred on her 16th birthday. It was released in November and became a hit. Serge Gainsbourg, whose career was faltering although he had released several albums and written songs for singers including Michèle Arnaud and Juliette Gréco, was asked by Bourgeois to write songs for Gall. Gainsbourg's "N'écoute pas les idoles" ("Don't listen to the idols") became Gall's second single; it reached the top of the French charts in March 1964 and stayed there for three weeks.

Blur - 13 (1999)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 400 MB | 66,50 Min | Scans
Label: Food / Virgin | Alternative, Post Rock | June – October 1998 | RAR 3% Rec.

13 is the sixth album by English alternative rock band Blur, released in March 1999. The album reached number one in the UK Albums Chart and number 80 in the US Billboard 200. 13 spawned three hit singles: "Tender", "Coffee & TV" and "No Distance Left to Run". The album has been certified Platinum in the UK. 13 sees the band moving further away from their Britpop past into more cerebral and denser musical territory. Some of the songs, however, are evocative of songs from their previous efforts, such as "Bugman", "Coffee & TV", "1992" and "Optigan 1". Much of the album was inspired by Damon Albarn's breakup with Elastica singer Justine Frischmann. Two of the singles, "Tender" and "No Distance Left to Run", describe Albarn's love for Frischmann and his struggle to move on.

His passion is equestrianism, in which he competes both in racing and riding, with six victories to his credit. At the Tremblay hippodrome, he met by chance one day two apprentice riders who turned out to be none other than the actor Roger Pierre and the director Jean-Marc Thibault. When they learned that he spent his spare time writing songs, they soon made him leave the paddocks to sing his songs and those of Georges Brassens at l'Ecluse and l'Echelle de Jacob, popular Paris cabarets of the day.

George Harrison - Somewhere In England (1981) [2004 Remaster]
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 284 MB | 44,20 Min | Scans
Label: Capitol Records | Rock | Remastered | 11 Tracks | RAR 3% Rec.

Somewhere in England is an album by George Harrison, released in 1981. Recorded as Harrison was becoming increasingly frustrated with the music industry, the album's making was a long one, and witnessed a tragic event in Harrison's life. Content to move at his own speed, Harrison began recording Somewhere in England in the autumn of 1979 and continued at a sporadic pace, finally delivering the album to Warner Bros. Records in September 1980. However, the executives at Warner Bros. rejected it, ordering Harrison to drop four of its songs ("Tears of the World", "Sat Singing", "Lay His Head" and "Flying Hour"), finding them too downbeat. Harrison's original cover art, featuring his profile against a map of Great Britain was also vetoed by Warner Bros. With Harrison already feeling unable to relate to the current post-punk and New Wave musical climate, he acceded to their requests, but knew that when his recording contract came up for renewal after his next album, he wouldn't bother re-signing.

George Harrison - Gone Troppo (1982) [2004 Remaster]
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 294 MB | 45,10 Min | Scans
Label: Dark Horse / Warner | Rock | Remastered | 11 Tracks | RAR 3% Rec.

Gone Troppo is an album by George Harrison recorded and released in 1982. It would prove to be Harrison's last studio album for five years, wherein he would largely take an extended leave of absence from his recording career, with only the occasional soundtrack recording surfacing. By 1980, Harrison had been finding the current musical climate alienating. His commercial appeal had dwindled, with 1981's Somewhere in England failing to go gold (despite featuring the John Lennon tribute hit, "All Those Years Ago"). With one album left on his current recording contract, Harrison decided to get it over with and recorded Gone Troppo (an Australian slang expression meaning "gone mad/crazy") and released it without participating in any promotion, disenchanted as he was with the state of the music industry.

Label: Polydor | Chanson (French), Songwriter | April 2009 | RAR 3% Rec.

In Miss Meteores, Olivia Ruiz's third album, the young French songwriter seems more in control than ever of her artistic persona, and clearly cherishing every bit of her liberation from the shadow of her STAR ACADEMY fame. For starters, she wrote all the lyrics for her new album, as well as co-writing most of the music with longtime partner Mathias Malzieu. Ruiz enthusiastically tries her hand at everything in Miss Meteores, verging from French chanson to hard rock, or from blues to calypso and folk, as well as singing in three languages and featuring several guests from all across the board: Austrian folk outfit Lonely Drifter Karen, rapper Toan, French rock group Coming Soon, Christian Olivier from Têtes Raides, the Noisettes, and even members of her own family.
