The Wallflowers - Red Letter Days (2002)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 324 MB | 45,25 Min | Covers
Label: Interscope | Rock, Alternative Rock | November 2002 | RAR 3% Rec.

Red Letter Days is fourth album by The Wallflowers, released in 2002. The album peaked at #32 on the Billboard 200. Red Letter Days was the first Wallflowers record that featured Jakob Dylan playing a majority of the lead guitar parts. The album had a much more aggressive sound than any of their previous releases, especially the song "Everybody Out of the Water," which they performed on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. The first single and only music video shot was for "When You're On Top." Though the album contains some profanity in "Everybody Out of the Water", it does not carry the Parental Advisory sticker.

Blur - Blur (1997)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 386 MB | 60,01 Min | Covers
Label: EMI Records (1997) | Alternative Rock | 10 February 1997 | RAR 3% Rec.

Blur is the fifth album by English alternative rock band Blur. Released on 10 February 1997 in the UK, it reached the top of the UK album chart. Blur was also a hit in the US, with "Song 2" becoming a hit there and the album being certified Gold. It also spawned several hit singles in the UK, most notably "Beetlebum" and "Song 2". The album's style was resultant of Blur's dropping their previous Britpop mantle in favor of lo-fi and alternative rock recordings, reportedly at Graham Coxon's urging. As a result, Blur was a hit primarily because it proved that Blur could evolve beyond their Britpop roots. The album's move from Britpop was emphasised by this being the first Blur album not to use Stylorouge cover-art and also not to have lyrics and chords printed in the liner notes, instead having a composite photo of the band in the studio spread out over three panels. The album featured the first song in which Graham Coxon not only wrote the lyrics, but also provided lead vocals, for the song "You're So Great". He would later do the same for "Coffee & TV" for Blur's next album.

Label: EMI Records (2001) | New Wave / Punk Rock | 15 April 1977 | RAR 3% Rec.

Rattus Norvegicus is the first studio album by The Stranglers, released on 17 April 1977. The band's name was printed as "The Stranglers IV" on the sleeve. The album was originally to be entitled "Dead on Arrival" but was changed at the last minute. It was one of the highest-selling albums of the punk era in Britain, eventually achieving platinum record sales. The album's title is the taxonomic name for the common brown rat. It was produced in one week by Martin Rushent, and was basically a snapshot of the band's live set at the time. Some websites incorrectly list the title of the album as IV and the artist as Rattus Norvegicus. The first 20,000 copies of the original vinyl release included a free 7" single, containing "Peasant in the Big Shitty (live)" and "Choosie Susie".

Label: Angel Air (2007) | Rock | Recorded July - September 1973 | RAR 3% Rec.

Recorded between July and September 1973 at Air Studios, London, and released the following February, `The Man In The Bowler Hat' was Stackridge's third long-player. It was, by common consent, their finest achievement, both up to that point and in their entire seven-year career. The magic ingredient this album boasted was the involvement of an iconic musical figure: George Martin, producer of the Beatles until their split three years previously. 10 tracks including 'Fundamentally Yours', 'To The Sun And The Moon', 'Pinafore Days' and more. Albedo 0.39 was the second album produced by Vangelis in Nemo Studios, London, which was his creative base until the late 1980s. It contrasts with his previous album, Heaven and Hell, which was classically inspired and choral, while Albedo 0.39 has blues and jazz overtones. The album title refers to the average albedo value of the planet Earth as it was in 1976. From the explanation on the back of the LP cover : "The reflecting power of a planet or other non-luminous body. A perfect reflector would have an Albedo of 100%. The Earth's Albedo is 39%, or 0.39". more...

Together Through Life is the 33rd studio album by Bob Dylan, released on April 28, 2009, on Columbia Records. The album debuted at number one in several countries, including the U.S. and the UK. It is Dylan's first number one in Britain since New Morning in 1970. Dylan wrote all but one of the album's songs with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter with whom he had previously co-written two songs on his 1988 album Down in the Groove. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Dylan said “Hunter is an old buddy, we could probably write a hundred songs together if we thought it was important or the right reasons were there...He's got a way with words and I do too. We both write a different type of song than what passes today for songwriting.” The only other writer Dylan has ever collaborated with to such a degree is Jacques Levy, with whom he wrote most of the songs on Desire (1976). more...
