George Harrison - Brainwashed (2002)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 314 MB | 47,47 Min | Covers
Label: Parlophone | Rock | Recorded 1997 – 2002 | RAR 3% Rec.

Brainwashed is the final studio album by George Harrison. The album was released in 2002, almost a year after Harrison's death at the age of 58. As a posthumous release, Brainwashed garnered much attention upon its unveiling. Harrison had begun recording the tracks that would eventually see issue on Brainwashed as early as 1988 (with "Any Road" being written during the making of a video for "This Is Love" from the Cloud Nine album) and would continue to do so in a sporadic manner over the next decade and a half. After recuperating from being attacked in his home by Michael Abram on 30 December 1999 Harrison focused more on getting his album finished, simultaneously sharing his ideas for all its details (from the sound of the finished songs to the album's artwork) with his son Dhani — information that would ultimately prove very valuable. more...

The nomination, written by Justin Timberlake, stated that "people are born to do certain things, and Al was born to make us smile." The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Green in 1995, referring to him as "one of the most gifted purveyors of soul music." Green has sold more than 20 million records. more...

The Five Bridges Suite is a modern piece of music, written in the 1960s, combining classical music and jazz. Written about the UK city of Newcastle upon Tyne, it was released as an album by The Nice which achieved the number two position in the UK album charts. In the Q & Mojo Classic Special Edition Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock, the album came #29 in its list of "40 Cosmic Rock Albums". The Move - Hits & Rarities: Singles A's & B's (1999)
Eac Rip | Flac, Img+Cue, Log | 638 MB | 129,50 | Front Cover
Label: Repertoire Records | Rock | 2 CD / 40 tracks | RAR 3% Rec.

All Music Guide ReviewHits & Rarities/ Singles A's & B's is a nicely put together double-CD set from Repertoire Records -- it's actually a more expansive version of Edsel Records' Omnibus: The 60s Singles A's & B's issued that same year, assembling the Move's 40 official U.K. single releases (or, more properly, non-LP releases, since there are some EP sides represented), all dating between 1966 and 1974 (that latter date is a result of the belated 45 rpm issue of "Do Ya"). It's safe to say that no band this side of the Beatles (and perhaps not even them) ever packed more creative and challenging elements into their 45's, on the A-sides as well as the B-sides, than the Move did. Though they released four albums during this same period, the latter were so infrequent that they couldn't be the group's main vehicle for expression or experimentation -- it was the 7" platters that served this purpose, and it's even more to the credit of Roy Wood and company that they were able to pull that off successfully for five years.

Marianne Faithfull - Kissin' Time (2002)
Eac Rip | Flac, Img+Cue, Log | 391 MB | 47,59 | Artwork
Label: Virgin Records | Rock | CDHUTF71 | RAR 3% Rec.

Kissin' Time is a 2002 studio album by veteran British musician Marianne Faithfull. After turns as a neo-cabaret/slow ballad crooner in previous works (represented by her 1990s works with Hal Willner, Angelo Badalamenti and the interpretation of Brecht/Weill standards), Faithfull was eager to collaborate with contemporary musicians. Faithfull co-wrote almost all the songs, and worked with several notable musicians who produced the tracks. The song 'Kissin' Time' is the result of a collaboration between her and Blur, and is, according to Faithfull, "sort of about Damon (Albarn) and sort of about me." Beck, who worked with Faithfull in Los Angeles, is responsible for the tracks 'Sex With Strangers', 'Like Being Born' and 'Nobody's Fault'."Hoffer. more...

Marianne Faithfull - Blazing Away (1990)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 406 MB | 72,39 | Scans
Label: Island Records | Rock, Other Style | 13 Tracks | RAR 3% Rec.

Live albums are often regarded as poor relations to the 'proper' studio output, often wrongly. Blazing Away is an example of one of the lost treasures which are so easily overlooked this by this attitude. It starts slowly, but gets into it's stride with Guilt, the venom starting to flow in preparation for the main course. Enter Working Class Hero, a track she has almost made her own, shame about the instrumental jazz ramblings in the middle but what do you expect from Greenwich Village session musicians (I havent Googled, I may be doing them a disservice)? Nonetheless she delivers it with true power and anger, spitting bile over the small audience. It was recorded in St. Annes Cathedral, Brooklyn, and the acoustic is utterly superb. The sound manages to be both expansive and intimate, not an easy combination. more...

Marianne Faithfull - A Child's Adventure (1983)
Eac Rip | Flac, Img+Cue, Log | 210 MB | 37,29 | Covers
Label: Island Records | Rock, Folk, Pop | 8 Tracks | RAR 3% Rec.

This great album by the demimonde chanteuse sees her collaborating with talented musicians like Wally Badarou and Barry Reynolds to craft classic songs like that paean to alienation, the majestic Times Square, the decadent and evocative Blue Millionaire, the poignant Falling From Grace, the sensitive and hopeful Morning Come and the haunting Ireland with its great bagpipes. It is still infused with the autobiographical like much of Broken English and Dangerous Acquaintances, especially in the personal She's Got A Problem, but Faithfull's songs always manage to encompass the universal. Perhaps this album does not have the immediacy of Broken English, nor the abundance of catchy hooks of Acquaintances, yet it remains a fine work of great melodic and lyrical depth that has stood the test of time very well.

Atomic Rooster - Nice 'n' Greasy (1973)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 252 MB | 41,05 | Covers
Label: Repertoire 1991 / PYE 1973 | Progressive Rock Rock | RAR 3% Rec.

Nice 'n' Greasy is the fifth studio album by British rock band Atomic Rooster. In the US, the record was issued on Elektra in a different sleeve (pictured) to most territories and retitled Atomic Rooster IV, as their first album, Atomic Roooster, failed to secure a US release. The US album also had a somewhat different tracklist to the UK version. The German release followed the US track listing, but with a phallic art sleeve. It was further reissued in Germany in 1977, this time in yet another new sleeve and retitled This is Atomic Rooster Vol. 2. more...

Jefferson Airplane - Bless Its Pointed Little Head (1969) [2004 Remaster]
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 402 MB | 65,31 | Artwork
Label: RCA / BMG Heritage | Psychedelic Rock | Recorded October 1968 | RAR 3% Rec.

Bless Its Pointed Little Head is a live album by Jefferson Airplane recorded at both the Fillmore East and West in the fall of 1968 and released in 1969. Five songs on the album had not appeared on any of the band's previous studio recordings. The songs that did appear on previous albums, however, are now completely transformed into much heavier versions. Highlights of the album include Jack Casady's walking line bass playing which dominates the entire set and the blues number "Rock Me Baby" which is a harbinger of Casady's and Kaukonen's later band Hot Tuna. Of particular interest is the musician lineup on the Donovan cover "Fat Angel", which demonstrates the versatility of the band. Marty Balin plays bass, Casady is the rhythm guitarist while Kaukonen and Kantner share the lead guitar duties. more...

EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 353 MB | 61,57 | Artwork
Label: BMG Music | Folk Rock, Blues Rock | Stereo | RAR 3% Rec.

Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is the debut album of San Francisco rock band Jefferson Airplane, released on RCA Victor Records in 1966. The personnel differ from the later "classic" lineup and the music is more folk-rock than the harder psychedelic sound for which the band later became famous. Signe Toly Anderson was the female vocalist whilst Skip Spence played drums. Both left the group shortly after the album's release and were replaced by Grace Slick and Spencer Dryden respectively.
The midtempo ballad "It's No Secret" was released as a single. more...

Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale (1967) {Cube, VICP-62370}
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 369 MB | 51,05 | Artwork
Label: Cube | Rock, Progressive, Blues Rock | Mono | RAR 3% Rec.

Procol Harum is the self-titled first album by British rock band Procol Harum, released in June 1967. The original Deram release of the LP included a large poster of the album cover artwork by Dickinson. Though the album was recorded on multi-track, it was issued in mono-only in the UK, and in mono and rechanneled stereo in the US. Despite extensive searching, the original multi-track tapes have not been located and thus a stereo mix of the original 10 tracks may never be possible. Several alternate takes (marked + in the list, below), however, have been mixed into stereo and are available on CD. All songs written by Gary Brooker (music) and Keith Reid (lyrics), except "Repent Walpurgis" written by Matthew Fisher, after works by French organist Charles-Marie Widor and German composer Johann Sebastian Bach. more...

The Moody Blues - Strange Time (1999)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 377 MB | 57,40 | Scans
Label: Universal Records | Rock | Recorded: 1997-1999 | RAR 3% Rec.

Strange Times is an album released by the rock band The Moody Blues in 1999. By this time it suited the band to release a very airy and generally more minimal-sounding album, with a slower pace. The sound features acoustic guitar, slightly processed electric guitar, light organ, flute, and string arrangements. The exception may be the opening track "English Sunset," which is arguably one of the fastest, most emotionally-charged, and synthesiser-laden Moody Blues' songs ever recorded. This was the last Moody Blues album to feature longtime flautist and vocalist Ray Thomas.

The Moody Blues - The Present (1983)
EAC Rip | FLAC, IMG+CUE, LOG | 264 MB | 42,02 min | Scans
Label: Decca Records | Rock | Recorded: March - December 1982 | RAR 3% Rec.

The Present is a 1983 album by The Moody Blues. It is the second album of the Patrick Moraz era. It had three minor hit singles, "Blue World" (#62) , "Sitting at the Wheel" (#27) and "Running Water". The album itself features strong compositions, but with a track order designed to capitalise on the legacy of the more successful Long Distance Voyager, with Justin Hayward's songs at the beginning and Ray Thomas' as finales. The Present also became, in 1983, the first compact disc manufactured worldwide. In November 2008, the album was remastered and released on CD with two extra tracks. The cover is a pastiche of Maxfield Parrish's famous painting Daybreak, with some subtle details: The crossed arms of the standing child is said to symbolise the roman numeral X, this being the Moody Blues' tenth album (with Lodge and Hayward).
