2007 album from the British Jazz/Funk/Fusion band led by keyboardist Bill Sharpe and drummer Roger Odell. Like Level 42, the band came into existence in 1980, a time when Punk and New Wave were the music of choice for England's youth. Somehow, Shakatak managed to win the hearts of Europe and Japan even though their style of music was not in vogue. Since then, the band has explored many styles of Jazz and Fusion and have managed to maintain a large core audience who have grown with them.

SHAKATAK have enjoyed a level of success and a career longevity rarely paralleled in contemporary music - but then SHAKATAK are a particularly unusual group. Because of the nature of the music, their fan base is one that is very far reaching while always retaining it's "underground" element. Shakatak is a British jazz-funk band, founded in 1980. Shakatak scored a number of chart entries, including two Top Ten hits in the UK Singles Chart, "Night Birds" (1982) and "Down on the Street" (1984). The group is still popular in Japan and the Far East, and generally produces a new album each year.

История коллектива началась в 1967 году, когда Борис Бланк стал записывать свои первые музыкальные опусы на магнитофон. За неимением инструментов он начал использовать кухонную утварь: деревянные подставки, хрустальные бокалы, ключи и ножи. С ним Бланк смог наконец-то создать свою первую профессиональную студию. В 1978 году они предприняли путешествие в Сан-Франциско, чтобы познакомиться со своими кумирами — тамошней авангардистской группой The Residents.
