A drug heist goes wrong, as one of the drug carriers escapes after stabbing the robbers, gets a glimpse of their faces. The two masked men are actually two police officers, who decided to plan the heist. Vincent, a lieutenant who now has a bad stab wound, ends up with a huge bag of coke. The bag of coke belongs to a powerful mob boss/nightclub owner named Jose, who kidnaps Vincent's son in hopes to reclaim his property. Vincent has until the end of the night to return the stash and save his son.

Marta Kowalska, 30, flees from Belarus to Sweden together with her 10-year-old daughter, Anna. The two of them end up in a refugee centre in northern Sweden where they meet Ali, an Algerian. Isaac Stern's cultural tour of China is seen, with the master violinist performing and mentoring young Chinese musicians. He visits rehearsals of the Peking Opera, meeting with their musicians who use traditional Chinese instruments, and also visits a sports academy and other venues. The lingering effects of the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), which opposed any western influences and oppressed those who introduced western approaches, are evident in the lack of skill development among many of the young musicians and the emphasis on technical skill rather than artistic interpretation.

It seems as if to live is to remember and to capture memories is to create a work of great art. The memories parallel the final volume of Proust's novel.

A crazy mountain-man shoots down a small passenger plane. He then proceeds to stalk, torture and kill the survivors.

Among the debris of an atomic war, Jean, Anna and their son Patrick, a small family, believe that they're the only survivors of the human kind. They have choosen a caravan parked on a beach near a dead city as their house: the sea gives them a lot of food and the city all the needed furnishings. Days are passing with a strange peaceful resignation until two new survivors, Len the soldier and Quentin the highbrow, appear. Spying on the behaviour and the talks of the couple, the newcomers realize that Jean, clearly hostile to them, became impotente because of radiations and so Quentin starts to consider Anna as a real opportunity to perpetuate the human kind. What's a moral duty for a highbrow, it's a instinctive and violent desire for the soldier.....

Two narrators, one seen and one unseen, discuss possible connections between a series of paintings. The on-screen narrator walks through three-dimensional reproductions of each painting, featuring real people, sometimes moving, in an effort to explain the series' significance.

Rudi is thrown out of gear, even more when he learns that his wife wanted to live a totally different life in Japan...

The great Agnès Varda’s film career began with this graceful, penetrating study of a marriage on the rocks, set against the backdrop of a small Mediterranean fishing village. Both a stylized depiction of the complicated relationship between a married couple (played by Silvia Monfort and Philippe Noiret) and a documentary-like look at the daily struggles of the locals, Varda’s discursive, gorgeously filmed debut was radical enough to later be considered one of the progenitors of the coming French New Wave.

The plot is set in modern Moscow, probably in the second half of 1990s, with "New Russians", Hummer H1 jeeps, bribery, violence, truckfuls of tinned stew as a dowry, and so on. The film is quite far from the novel's subject, but still keeps to the main storyline. It features Fyodor Bondarchuk as Myshkin, and a soundtrack by DJ Groove, one of the most popular Russian DJs....

This is simply a collection of scenes and stories where women are tied, whipped, raped and tortured while the men experiment or are inspired to paint.
