Hard Rock | MP3 CBR 256 kbps / 44.100kHz / Stereo | 79 Mb | RS

Originally from Virginia, Mason was another example of an American hard rock band that took its influences from the British underground and 1960s' psychedelic scene. This heavy rock album was initially released in 1971 through a tiny homemade pressing but through the years it has gained collectiblity and originals have fetched high prices as the band's reputation has spread among collectors.

Cold Sun - Dark Shadows (1969) USA
Psychedelic | MP3 CBR 192 kbps / 44.100kHz / Stereo | 61 Mb | RS

This release is well worth picking up - a genuinely psychedelic item with lots of superb and, often discordant, electric autoharp and sustained fuzz guitar and lots of fresh ideas. The vocals don't always reach the same standard but this album is recommended. An acetate was found with several tracks by this group (only one known copy exists, now in a private collection).

Obscure UK acid folk rarity. Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Tony Durant was the creative force behind their obscure progressive folk album. The lyrics were influenced by English novelist and poet Mervyn Peake and supplemented by a lush violin and cello backing. Worth investigation.
