This fresh release from Kepi Ghoulie (Groovie Ghoulies) and Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers) is only availble at shows and through the Asian Man website. Featuring covers and originals from each.

Essentially an alternative country side project for Groovie Ghoulies singer/bassist Kepi, the Haints include not only all three members of the Ghoulies but also add guitarist Cory Vick and percussionist David Houston to the mix. Conceived as a way for the Groovie Ghoulies to play more local gigs, Kepi formed the Haints in 2004; that same year, the group released its first album, Hurt & Alone.

The Haints began as a jokey side project of the Groovie Ghoulies, playing largely acoustic folk-punk tunes with giggly lyrics. Their second album turned the Haints into something notably different and far more appealing. Acoustic guitars are joined by polite electrics, although the overall jangly tone is still closer to 1965 folk-rock than 1977 punk...

On "Berry'd Alive", Sacramento's own Groovie Ghoulies rips it up and lets it rock, in this tribute to the true King of Rock and Roll, Chuck Berry, covering some of Chuck's lesser known gems. This fun filled EP has plenty of teeth, passion, and enough rock and roll swagger, to remind us all why rock music is so good for the soul!
