Mostly when I’ve an ‘best of’ album, I only recognise a few songs. In this case however, over 70% is well known by me…. So it’s not only Lola, it’s also Sunny afternoon, Watterloo sunset, Mr. Pleasant, Death of a clown, Wonderboy and all those other great songs…. (mp3, 198 kbps, 198 mb, including covers)

The Rubettes first made No.1 in 1974 with their very first single 'Sugar Baby Love' and after five weeks at the coveted No.1 spot in the U.K. they repeated their success throughout the world. 'Sugar Baby Love' sold eight million copies after which the Rubettes went on to have a further 15 International Hits establishing themselves, with their flamboyant Gatsby appearance, as one of the Icons of the 70's Glam Rock era.

10cc: Eric Stewart, Lol Creme (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Graham Gouldman (vocals, guitar, bass); Kevin Godley (vocals, drums, percussion).
Compilation producers: Bas Hartong, Bill Levenson.
Digitally remastered by Chris Herles.
Includes liner notes by Chris White.
This 18-track compilation is probably the best of several 10cc compilations available, mostly because it's one of the very few which combines tracks from their first two albums, including the British hits "Donna" and "Rubber Bullets," with their later, better-known material recorded for a different label.

In late 1965, a time of division and rage, Turn! Turn! Turn! was a much-needed voice of communion and reason. Timeless in the truest sense, this album continues to resonate with love and compassion....not to mention phenomenal songwriting and stellar performances...

A kinder and gentler return to The Byrds' folkie beginnings, Ballad Of Easy Rider boiled the band down to its essential heavenly harmonies with songs and tempos that insinuated rather than agitated. Like the third album by the Velvet Underground--also boasting a tune about Jesus--it was the perfect remedy for someone who'd just come home from a tough day at work and wanted to hear some really fine music, lovingly crafted.
The title track was written for the soundtrack Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper's classic 1969 biker odyssey movie, Easy Rider. The album is a loose ballad cycle about the open road and the loves, losses and lessens that dot the way. Medicine for the times [1969], this was music for healing and, if necessary escape, with its quietly beguiling blend of dusty laments and luxuriant folk-pop and the gentle narrative tug of the songs.
