The Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination - 2007 Deluxe Edition

The Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination (2007 Deluxe Edition)
FLAC Lossless | 710 Mb | MP3 | 320 kbps | 275 Mb | Progressive

A real gift for the lovers of Alan Parsons Project, with versions and Bonus Tracks. This edition includes both versions of this classic album: original version of 1976 and remix of 1987. Truely their sound differ: This excellent reissue give both the original 1976 mix (not available on cd before) and the superior 1987 which has more ambient sounding drums as well as some extra guitar passages added by Ian Bairnson. Orson Welles also narrates in between the tracks. Original version sounds more fresh and more rocky, especially "The Tell-Tale Heart" with Arthur Brown's voice. There were no readings from Edgar Poe by Orson Welles (it was recorded after the album was finished). In 1987 were added new parties of keyboards (organ solo performed by Alan Parsons in 1987 in "The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether" much more impressive than on original record), guitars, narration by Orson Welles, sound was corrected. Bonus tracks are - previously unpublished song "Edgar", fragments of studio sessions, examples of all songs with vocals by Eric Woolfson, sound effects from "Arrival" (rain, thunder, organ etc.), interview by Alan and Eric from 1976 with interesting information about their work, Orson Welles reading without music, commercial for the radio with his voice. No B-sides or finished and unpublished material.
Both albums are remastered by Alan Parsons himself (but you have to prepare yourself for a little bit different sound on familiar for majority of us 1987 version). If you are true Alan Parsons lover - this edition is a must for you.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (Marvel Comics)
RS | CBR Files | 10-15 Mb per file | 3 files

In 1981, Marvel Comics published this three-issue adaptation of Raiders of the Lost Ark. In January 1983, they gave the character his own monthly series, named The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, which ran for 34 issues until March 1986. The series had Marcus Brody and Marion Ravenwood in regular supporting roles, and Sallah, Katanga and Short Round also appeared. A three-issue adaptation of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and a four-issue adaptation of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, were also published.
Indiana Jones is not an ordinary archeologist. When we first see him, in Raiders of the Lost Ark, he is somewhere in the Peruvian jungle in 1936, running a booby-trapped gauntlet to fetch a solid-gold idol.

John Williams: Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (2008)

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
Soundtrack | Flac Lossless | 400 MB | MP3 | 320 kbps | 181 MB | 2008

First of all, this is the real commercial soundtrack. The one we already know was a promo edition that was released with a great problem: the last track was chopped off, so, it was incomplete. Why did they do that? Well, this one is the good commercial version.

The orchestral score to "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is a worthy entry into the series' pantheon of film music: The "Raiders March" is as inspiring and rousing a piece of film music ever composed. "The Call of the Crystal" introduces one of the film's new motifs, a three-note string repetition that builds with a tenuous flute progression. This is an understated and atmospheric piece, obviously meant to build tension and suggest a great mystery. Is it a piece you will hum? No. But it has structure and a presence that is actually pretty diverse (when it shows up in later tracks) given its simplicity. Other notable pieces: "The Adventures of Mutt", "The Snake Pit" and "A Whirl Through Academe" are whimsical pieces reminiscent of the motorcycle music from "The Last Crusade." "Irinia's Theme" is a string-heavy romantic piece, with a down-tone to suggest evil! "The Spell of the Skull" repeats the "Map Room" theme from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (which raises an eyebrow and wonders if there is a direct connection to the Lost Ark of the Covenant happening in this new movie). One of the bigger surprises is "The Journey to Akator" which midway thru breaks into an indigenous arrangement of South American music (full-on tropical dance stuff)...

CBR Files | 15-25 Mb per file | 4 files

Years ago, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was supposed to be the 4th Indiana Jones movie, but it couldn´t be so, because of Harrison Ford, who refused to assume the rol for the 4th time. 17 years ago, the actor had several projects and he didn´t feel like shoting another "indy" movie.

COMIC: Indiana Jones and the Arms of Gold

Indiana Jones and the Arms of Gold
CBR Files | 20-30 Mb per file | 4 files

This story is more of a "solo" Indiana Jones adventure focusing on the search for the legendary Incan "arms of gold." The legend is that the arms possessed the power to reshape structures and stones, i.e. create the Incan temples. There's a specific love interest, who of course is an old friend, and Indiana Jones is in his "true" mercenary mode. This is much more of a love story than anything else and that love story is its own adventure that runs parallel to the actual quest for the arms of gold.

Betrayed Soundtrack

Betrayed - Bill Conti
MP3 320 kbps Stereo CBR | 44.1 KHz | 1988 | 80 MB

Betrayed, a political thriller starring Tom Berenger and Debra Winger, is the kind of soundtrack you would get if you asked Garth Brooks to score a movie: music heavily influenced by country 'n western and American blues where harmonicas and electric guitars are the instruments of choice. It may come as a surprise that Bill Conti, the man behind Rocky, The Right Stuff and Masters of the Universe wrote this, because it's about as far removed from Gonna Fly Now as it's possible to get. It all just moves along quite nicely, all the while dominated by the country rock orchestrations but with a few choice highlights, like 'The Way', 'Another Way' and 'Marry Me', which feature slightly more lyrical piano elements and a subdued acoustic guitar; 'Riding to Work', 'There Ain't No Going Back' and especially 'Passing Time', which highlight John Goux's funky electric guitar solos...

Andrew Powell & The Alan Parsons Project

Andrew Powell - Ladyhawke (1984)
Soundtrack / Progressive Rock | MP3 | 192 kbps | 1984 | 93 MB + Covers 35 MB

Composed by one of the Alan parsons Project members and played and produced by the project itself, This score is a genuine rarity among movies. Progressive rock, electric instruments (specially guitars and keyboards) mixing freely with orchestral passages creating a seductive otherworldly ambience, somewhat reminiscent (as is the movie for which it was written) of the scoring for Excalibur, though that relied on Wagnerian material to make its point. This is closer in spirit and execution to '70s progressive rock, and very impressive in that context. Totally instrumental, "Ladyhawke" successfully features the "orchestral" side of the [b]Alan Parsons Project

The Other Gods, H.P. Lovecraft

The Other Gods A Tale of the Dream Cycle
AVI | 640x480 | 6 min | 128 kbps mp3 | 30 fps | 38 MB

"In the land of Ulthar, beyond the River Skai, dwelt a man called Barzai the Wise..." This horror adaptation tells of a prophet of the Dreamlands who scales a forbidden mountain to look upon his deities. A daunting journey to a mountain peak. A confrontation with gods too powerful to name. As many readers of H.P. Lovecraft know, the horror writer had a dislain for the cinema. However, in 1924, Lovecraft did not object when an acquaintance, artist Peter Rhodes, chose to adapt his short story, "The Other Gods". Although the animated short was well received in literary circles, it never saw a wider release. After Rhodes' death in 1938, prints became difficult to find. For many years, "The Other Gods" has been considered a lost film. Until Now.
