Paul Weller - Stanley Road (deluxe edition, 2 CDs) (2005)
Unknown rip | Separate FLAC files, no cue, no log | 478 MB + 402 MB | scans | RS.com
rock, funk, singer-songwriter | Island Records

Named after a street in Weller's home-town of Woking in Surrey, this album was greeted with universal approval by critics and fans. The brilliant Peter Blake collage throughout the package portrays much greater nostalgia than is contained in the lyrics. The family snapshots and the Green Line picture serve only to fool the listener.

nu jazz, trance | Warner Bros. WEA

Nicholas Payton's sixth record is, he says, a new turn in a young career. 'Sonic Trance' has the ambition of retaining tradition's achievements while using them to reach a newly distinguished fusion of jazz genre. It's a very lofty goal and the resulting 68 minutes of music will leave the listener grasping for aural reference points. It is slightly discomforting, but very fresh.

Banjo picker Noam Pikelny lifts the veil about the cryptic album title: “If you’re wondering why we named our new record Antifogmatic, I say to you, men and women alike, ‘Good day to you, Sir.’ But for those still curious, an ‘antifogmatic’ is a type of 19th century alcoholic drink that was meant as a cure for the effects of fog and other inclement weather.

The Waterboys & Mike Scott - The Whole Of The Moon, The music of Mike Scott & The Waterboys (1998)
EAC rip | Separate FLAC files, EAC cue, EAC log | 562 MB | scans | RS.com
irish folk, rock | Capitol, EMI

(...) Part of the entertainment value of "The Whole of the Moon" is discerning The Waterboys' roots. Mike Scott sometimes sounds like a nasal Todd Rundgren, and sometimes like one of The Hollies, and, on "She Is So Beautiful", like Bob Dylan. A few of the best songs sound a lot like other songs. (...) This is a good collection of songs from what was by then a unique band.
