Alone T04: Red Cairns
Fabien Vehlmann & Bruno Gazzotti | Dupuis (Belgiium) | CBR (1496 px) | ISBN 2800144130 | Pub Jun 5 2009 | 50 Pages | 39.28 MB
+ Alone T01-T03 Complete

Alone (original title Seuls, literally "only" in English) is a comic book series published by the Belgian comic book and magazine publisher Dupuis written by Fabien Vehlmann with art by Bruno Gazzotti. It is a story about a group of five children who are the survivors of a mysterious incident where all others in their city seem to have disappeared. Since this is originally a Belgian comic and has not yet been published in English, it is what is known as a "scanlation", a portmanteau of "scan" and "translation." Scanlation refers to the scanning, translation and editing of comics from a foreign language into another, usually English. As indicated in the individual comic cbr's, the "scanlators" are the Dragonz Team of DarthScanner (of Minutemen fame) and choky27. DarthScanner is the translator while choky27 is the leterrer or re-texter and proofreader. The scanner is unknown, though. Apparently DarthScanner is himself the original uploader so my gratitude and all credits to him and the Dragonz team. The translation, although not perfect, is better than most and the story itself is most interesting and worth reading. The first volume, "Left Behind" won the Youth Award for 9-12 years during the 34th Comics Festival of Angoulême, France (the largest comics festival in Europe) in 2007.

Star Wars Art: Visions (HC)
J.W. Rinzler (Intro); George Lucas (Foreword) | Harry N. Abrams, Inc. | CBR (1657px) | ISBN 0810995891 | Pub Nov 1 2010 | 164 Pages | 104.82 MB

When Star Wars debuted in 1977, it revolutionized the visual landscape of mainstream American filmmaking, transporting fans to new galaxies and introducing them to countless now-classic characters, costumes, aliens, planets, and starships. By 2005, with the last film in theaters, the Star Wars Saga had become a phenomenon impacting cultures across the globe. From the beginning, the Star Wars aesthetic was influenced by comic book artists from the 1930s to the 1970s, famed illustrators Chesley Bonestell, John Berkey, Frank Frazetta, and others, as well as classical artists. Just as George Lucas drew upon the work of N. C. Wyeth and Norman Rockwell for his own visual inspiration, he has now invited more than 100 of the best working illustrators, designers, cartoonists, and fine artists to create new work based on or inspired by their favorite characters, themes, landscapes, and moments from the Star Wars Universe. Star Wars: Visions collects the very best of these works together for the first time, celebrating more than thirty years of Star Wars with a roster of talent working in every style and genre. Capturing the imagination, beauty, and breadth of the films, television series, and more, Star Wars Visions is both a tribute to and a new way of experiencing a galaxy far, far away...

Assassin's Creed T01: Desmond (GN)
Eric Corbeyran & Djilalli Defaux | Les Deux Royaumes | CBR (1920 px) | ISBN 2918771007 | Pub Nov 11 2009 | 48 Pages (Color) | 50.20 MB

Assassin's Creed Volume 1: Desmond is a French-language graphic novel written by Eric Corbeyran and drawn by Djilalli Defaux as part of the publicity push for the hugely popular and award-winning historical fantasy series of video games of the same title from Ubisoft. It has been only released in France and Canada and only one volume was released. The comic book was published on 13 November 2009, a few days before Assassin's Creed II was released. The story is a retelling of events from Assassin's Creed and the beginning of Assassin's Creed II, mostly from the game's protagonist, Desmond Miles' modern perspective. However, events in the comic book are different from what happens in the game. This is a scanlation (the scanning, translation and editing of comics from a foreign language into a different language, usually without the express permission of the copyright holder; the word scanlation is a portmanteau of scan and translation), with credits unknown.
