Born Free is the eighth studio album by American artist Kid Rock. The title track was the album's lead single, released in July to radio. It is a collaboration album featuring several high profile artist from rock, country and rap. Kid Rock described it as "very organic blues based rock and roll". The album was produced by Rick Rubin. "Born Free" was released on Nov. 16. This album is Kid Rock's first to feature no Parental Advisory sticker. Rock stated that "Born Free" is a straight "Rock 'n' Roll" album. Cable network TBS used the title track, "Born Free", for its coverage of the 2010 Major League Baseball postseason.

Illuminations is an album by the American singer-songwriter Josh Groban, produced by Rick Rubin. It is Groban's fifth studio album, his first since 2007's Noël. Similar to Groban's previous albums, Illuminations contains songs sung in a variety of languages, including Groban's first take on a Portuguese song, "Você Existe Em Mim," written by Josh Groban , Lester Mendez and Carlinhos Brown. The album was released on November 15, 2010.

The Gift is the second album by Scottish singer Susan Boyle, which was released on 8 November 2010. Boyle has hinted that it will have a 1960s feel "because that was my era". It was produced by Steve Mac, who says, "Now Susan’s used to the studio and the recording process, this time round we might go even further down a traditional route of recording by getting a band together and rehearsing songs before we go into the studio to see what works, how she reacts with certain parts, and so we can change the arrangements that way. I think that’s going to work much better... With Susan it's very important she connects with the public and the public connect with her. She doesn’t want to sing anything that hasn’t happened to her or she can't relate to." Boyle included some Jazz numbers now she's "a bit more content" within herself. "My next album has to have an element of surprise in it again. I'm hoping to make it better and a bit extra special."

The album was released on October 29, 2010 and features four original songs, all-time Christmas classics and a re-recorded version of her 1994 Christmas hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You".
