Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Further Out: Miro Reflections
Impex 180g LP / LIMP 6002
Mastered by George Marino @ Sterling Sound; NY

Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (converted to 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | 795 / 221 mb incl. recovery | Rapidshare & Filefactory | Jazz | 1961

Allmusic.com rating: 4.5 / 5

Unlike most sequels, Time Further Out is a worthy successor to Time Out. Among the numbers introduced on this impressive set are "It's a Raggy Waltz" and "Unsquare Dance" (the latter an ancestor of Don Ellis's "Pussy Wiggle Stomp"). The selections, which range in time signatures from 5/4 to 9/8, are handled with apparent ease (or at least not too much difficulty) by pianist Brubeck, altoist Paul Desmond, bassist Eugene Wright and drummer Joe Morello on this near-classic.
- Scott Yanow/AMG

One of the best sounding records I know! Simply breathtaking!!!

Allmusic.com rating: 4.5 / 5

Many Crimson fans consider this album one of their best, right up there with In the Court of the Crimson King. It's easy to understand why after you hear the inspired performances by this hungry new version of the band.
- Greg Prato/AMG

Extremly good ProgRock album by King Crimson.... The sound is fantastic.

Miles Davis - On The Corner
Japanese 1st press (?) / SOPL-125

Artwork | 1.2 gb / 370 mb incl. recovery | Rapidshare & FileFactory | Jazz | 1972

Allmusic.com rating: 5 / 5

It may sound weird even today, but On the Corner is the most street record ever recorded by a jazz musician. And it still kicks.
- Thom Yurek/AMG

Great record, great sound!

King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon
Japanese LP (mint condition) / P-10124 A
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192Khz (converted to 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | 860 / 250 mb inckl. recovery | Rapidshare & FileFactory | ProgRock | 1970

Allmusic.com rating: 4.5 / 5

Their second album -- largely composed of Robert Fripp's songwriting and material salvaged from their stage repertory ("Pictures of a City" and "The Devil's Triangle") -- is actually better produced and better sounding than their first. Surprisingly, Fripp's guitar is not the dominant instrument here: The Mellotron, taken over by Fripp after McDonald's departure -- and played even better than before -- still remains the band's signature.
- Bruce Eder/AMG

Another great one by King Crimson.

Miles Davis - In Concert: Live at Philharmonic Hall

Artwork | 1.8 gb / 520 mb incl. recovery | Rapidshare & FileFactory | Jazz | 1972

Allmusic.com rating: 4 / 5

....it's about power, rhythm, and the sum energy of the collective, and of Davis' electric jazz-rock albums, In Concert does one of the most mind-bending jobs of living up to those ideals.
- Steve Huey/AMG

Another great live document of Miles Davis' electric phase....

In the Court of the Crimson King "may be the most influential progressive rock album ever released"

The Doors - Absolutely Live
Rhino 180g 2 LP-Set / 8122798168
Mastered by Doug Sax @ The Mastering Lab, NY

Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (converted to 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | 1.7 gb / 520 mb incl. recovery | Rapidshare & FileFactory | Rock | 1970

Strong performances and audio. Two previously unrecorded blues, a predictable new original called "Build Me a Woman," a surprising new original called "Universal Mind," several new fragments, and an intelligent medley. Plus "The Celebration of the Lizard" in its full theatrical glory--or rather, since this is a record, half of it. Problem is, I don't happen to be into reptiles when the music's over, much less while it's on.
- Robert Christgau

Another example that re-issues can sound much better as original LP's...

Eric Clapton - Journeyman
Reprise 2 LP-Set (2010) / Reprise 523108
Mastered by Bernie Grundman @ Grundman Mastering

Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192Khz (converted to 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | 1.2 gb / 360 mb incl. recovery | Rapidshare & FileFactory | Blues; Rock | 1989

Allmusic.com rating 4.5 / 5

Like any of Clapton's best albums, there is no grandstanding to be found on Journeyman — it's simply a laid-back and thoroughly engaging display of Clapton's virtuosity. On the whole, it's the best studio album he's released since Slowhand.
- Stephen Thomas Erlewine/AMG

Spreaded now on 2 records, mastered from the original analog master tapes, this great Clapton record sounds better than ever. Impressive!!!!

Allmusic.com rating: 4.5 / 5

While Pangaea is awesome as well, there is simply nothing like Agharta in the canon of recorded music. This is the greatest electric funk-rock jazz record ever made -- period.
- Thom Yurek/AMG

An awesome sounding monster of a 2 LP-Set with over 105 minutes running time....

One of the first handful of LPs issued by Atlantic, Ray Charles (later retitled Hallelujah I Love Her So) is a bona fide classic of its genre.

Frank Sinatra with the Count Basie Orchestra - Sinatra at the Sands
Mobile Fidelity 180g DoLP / MFSL 2-332
Half-speed mastered by Rob LoVerde @ Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs

Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (converted to 24/96 &16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | 1.6 gb (24-bit) 450 mb (16-bit) | Rapidshare & Filefactory | Jazz Vocals | 1966

Allmusic.com rating: 4.5 / 5

In many ways, Sinatra at the Sands is the definitive portrait of Frank Sinatra in the '60s. Recorded in April of 1966, At the Sands is the first commercially released live Frank Sinatra album, recorded at a relaxed Las Vegas club show. For these dates at the Sands, Sinatra worked with Count Basie and his orchestra, which was conducted by Quincy Jones....Basie and the orchestra are swinging and dynamic, inspiring a textured, dramatic, and thoroughly enjoyable performance from Sinatra.
- Stephen Thomas Erlewine/AMG

The perfect add to Doc Roberts' impressive rip of the MFSL Sinatra LP-Box. Sinatra at the Sands sounds never that good. Thank you, MoFi!!
