Cream - Fresh Cream
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 1.06 gb/330 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Rock | 1966
Mastered by Steve Hoffman & Kevin Gray from the original master tapes
DCC 180g LP / Cat.#: DCC LPZ-2015

Fresh Cream represents so many different firsts, it's difficult to keep count. Cream, of course, was the first supergroup, but their first album not only gave birth to the power trio, it also was instrumental in the birth of heavy metal and the birth of jam rock.

John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers - Crusade
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 550 / 200 mb incl. recovery | FSonic; FF & WU | Blues | 1967
Mastered from the original analog master tapes by Bob Irwin
Sundazed 180g Mono LP / Cat.#: Sundazed LP 5373

The final album of an (unintentional) trilogy, Crusade is most notable for the appearance of a very young, pre-Rolling Stones Mick Taylor on lead guitar. Taylor's performance is indeed the highlight, just as Eric Clapton and Peter Green's playing was on the previous album.

T-Bone Walker - T-Bone Blues
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 350 / 135 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Blues | 1959
Mastered by Joe Reagoso & Ron McMaster from the original analog mono master tapes
Friday Music 180g Mono LP / Cat.#: FRM 8020

The last truly indispensable disc of the great guitar hero's career, and perhaps the most innately satisfying of all, these mid-'50s recordings boast magnificent presence, with T-Bone Walker's axe so crisp and clear it seems as though he's sitting right next to you as he delivers a luxurious remake of "Call It Stormy Monday."

Interpol - Interpol
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 966 / 295 mb incl. recovery | FSonic; FF & WU | Rock | 2010
Matador 45rpm 2xLP-Set (US) / Cat.#: Matador OLE-945

Ultimately, Interpol isn't a statement of purpose as much as it is the end of an era for the band: With Dengler gone and back on their original label, they have the ability, and perhaps necessity, to go in any direction they choose.

Jimi Hendrix - Winterland (Part2/2)
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 2.7 gb/740 mb incl. recovery | FSonic; FF & HF | Rock 1968
Mastered by George Marino, cutted by Ray Janos @ Sterling Sound, NYC
Sony/Legacy 180g 8xLP-Box / Cat.#: 88697934251

The Jimi Hendrix Experience gave us some great music from these shows and McDermott and Kramer have done a great job of making what could have been a slightly tedious listen for some (if presented in its entirety) into a thoroughly enjoyable set for any Hendrix fan.

Artwork | DR Analysis | 1.1 gb/355 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Rock | 1986

Somewhere in Time is definitely an album you won't want to miss.

Metallica - Garage Inc.
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 3.0 gb/975 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Metal | 1998
Warner 180g 3xLP-Set - Pressed in EU @ GZVinyl / Cat.#: 533295-9
Mastered and cutted @ Grundman Mastering, Hollywood, CA

At one time, it might have seemed a little odd that Metallica would cover Budgie, Diamond Head, the Misfits, and Queen, but if Garage, Inc proves anything, it's that the group's musical instincts, risks, and sense of humor have made them the greatest metal band of the '80s and '90s.

Rory Gallagher - Top Priority
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 823 / 256 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Blues-Rock | 1979
UK original LP / Cat.#: Chrysalis CHR-1235

Except for the lack of diversity, this remains a strong set from the Irishman, and is highly recommended, especially to his less blues-oriented fans.

Blue Öyster Cult - Agents of Fortune
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | flac | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 815 / 240 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Rock | 1976
UK original LP / Cat.#: CBS S 81385 (A1/B1 Matrix)

Ultimately, Agents of Fortune is a solid record, albeit a startling one for fans of the band's earlier sound. It also sounds like one of restless inspiration, which is, in fact, what it turned out to be given the recordings that came after. It turned out to be the Cult's last consistent effort until they released Fire of Unknown Origin in 1981.

Mastered by Bernie Grundman & Eddie Kramer @ Grundman Mastering, Hollywwod, CA
Classic Records 200g 3xLP-Box & 7" bonus / Cat.#: RTH-2014 200g

This box set is not essential Hendrix, but it's important Hendrix as it captures Jimi in “mid thought,” moving toward the next great light.

Pat Metheny - Bright Size Life
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | Flac | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 745 / 215 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Jazz | 1976
ECM LP (Germany 1st pressing) / Cat.#: ECM 1073 ST

Pat Metheny's debut studio album is a good one, a trio date that finds him already laying down the distinctively cottony, slightly withdrawn tone and asymmetrical phrasing that would serve him well through most of the swerves in direction ahead.

ECM LP (Germany 1st pressing) / Cat.#: ECM 1064/65

This is a true and lasting masterpiece of melodic, spontaneous composition and improvisation that set the standard.

Jimmy Smith - Midnight Special
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/192kHz (presented in 24/96 & 16/44.1) | FLAC | m3u, cue & Tech Log
Artwork | DR Analysis | 745 / 213 mb incl. recovery | FSonic, FF & WU | Jazz | 1961
Analogue Productions 45 rpm Series 180g 2-LP-Set / Cat.#: APBST 84078
Mastered by Kevin Gray @ AcousTech Mastering, Camarillo, CA

Midnight Special is a perfect complement to Back at the Chicken Shack, which was recorded the same day. Organist Jimmy Smith, tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, and guitarist Kenny Burrell always make for a potent team, and with drummer Donald Bailey completing the group, the quartet digs soulfully into such numbers as the groovin' "Midnight Special," "Jumpin' the Blues," and "One O'Clock Jump." Highly recommended.
