The title Cria Cuervos is taken from a Spanish proverb -- "Raise ravens and they'll pluck out your eyes." The film was originally released in the United States under title Cria!, and has been screened in English-speaking territories as Raise Ravens and The Secret of Ana.

Oliver Deuce, a successful doctor, is shattered when his wife is killed in a freak car accident involving the car being driven by Alba Bewick colliding with a very large rare bird. His twin brother Oswald is researching how carcasses decay at the local zoo. Alba survives the accident although she loses one leg, and her sinister physician eventually removes the other 'because it looked so sad all alone'. Oswald and Oliver become involved in a menage a trois with Alba, and uncover very dubious trafficking in zoo property. But ultimately their only goal is to try and understand their mortal condition.

When he sees a book about dissection, he decides to join the medical school with the support of his parents. In the dissection class, his group participates of the autopsy of a young woman, and while cutting apart the tissue, he partially recalls his accident. Later, when he sees a tattoo in the arm of the corpse, he discloses that she was his girlfriend and becomes obsessed to go further in the examination of the body.

"Dear Frankie" is a heartwarming and often humorous tale of nine year old Frankie (Jack Mcelhone) and his mom, Lizzie (Emily Mortimer), who have been on the move ever since he can remember. To protect her son from the truth, Lizzie has invented a story to satisfy Frankie's curiosity. She regularly writes Frankie a letter from his make- believe father who works aboard a ship traveling to exotic lands. However, Lizzie soon finds out his 'father's' ship will be arriving in a few days. Now, Lizzie must choose between telling Frankie the truth and hatching a desperate plan to find the perfect stranger to play the perfect father.

Arthur Miller's compelling work is deftly translated to the small screen here, with riveting performances by Dustin Hoffman as Willy Loman, Kate Reid as Willy's wife Linda, and John Malkovich as the prodigal son Biff. This work touches my soul on several levels: sympathy for the fallen man Willy, understanding of the difficulty of both hating your father and wanting him to be proud of you as Biff shows, and the ever-protective enabler Linda, who defends Willy even as she sees him failing before her eyes. Miller took a simple American family struggling to make life work, and made each character in their own way extraordinary.

Young mother Yesterday (Leleti Khumalo) lives in Rooihoek, a remote village with meagre resources, with her daughter Beauty (Lihle Mvelase), while her husband (Kenneth Khambula) is away working in Johannesburg's mines. Falling ill, she struggles to see a doctor, never guaranteed a consultation after walking the long distance to the medical centre, which is only open one day a week and always oversubscribed. When she finally gets an appointment, she is diagnosed as HIV positive. Devastated, she goes to visit her husband who refuses to accept the situation, and Yesterday is left to fend for herself, desperately hoping she will survive long enough to see Beauty go to school. Yesterday claims she was named so by her father because 'things were better yesterday'. A bold statement given South Africa's painful history, but given how the AIDS epidemic has affected the region, it is sadly clear to see how some can come to that conclusion. Set against the stunning, harsh landscapes of South Afica's Zululand, director Darrell Roodt (Sarafina!, Cry the Beloved Country) insists his film is not a message movie, but a timely depiction of how devastating the disease is for the individual.

A young drifter named Louison (Dominique Pinon), arrives in a middle-of-nowhere town seeking work and lodging, and is given a place to stay above a local butcher's shop in exchange for his services as a handyman.
