XLD FLAC + Cue & Log | 292 MB | RAR 5% Recovery
Full HQ Art Scans | Genre: Folk | Warner Bros. | 1970

The Best of Peter, Paul, and Mary: Ten Years Together is a 1970 greatest hits release by American folk singers Peter, Paul, and Mary. It is the last album released before the group split up in 1970. The album includes all of their greatest hits, such as their only #1 hit "Leaving On A Jet Plane", "If I Had a Hammer", and their version of the Bob Dylan song "Blowin' in the Wind", along with others. Ten Years Together is an excellent introduction to the group for anyone who's not familiar with their work. It shows off their seamless, sumptuous harmonies, their willingness to step back and let the songs be the stars of the show, and the ease with which they move from ballads to more upbeat tunes.

Paul McCartney - McCartney
DCC Gold CD GZS-1029 (1992)
XLD Rip | FLAC + cue + log | 223 MB | 1970 | Full HQ Art

Not only was this the first solo album from Beatles alumnus Paul McCartney, but he played every single instrument on it--in fact, except for some backing vocals from Linda McCartney, he did it all. The most enduring track on this album is "Maybe I'm Amazed", but there are others well worth listening to, especially from this audiophile copy.

Bonus CD from Vinyl LP Edition

Battle Studies is the fourth studio album by American pop musician John Mayer, released on November 17, 2009. Mayer has chosen to step to the side of what made his last studio album Continuum so successful, rather focusing on a new, fresh style of song writing. During a live performance in June of 2009 Mayer said, "The album is called Battle Studies and that's because it incorporates a lot of the lessons, a lot of the observations, and a little bit of advice. Like a handbook, like a heartbreak handbook."

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass

Though George Harrison's solo albums for most of the 1970s and early '80s were uneven, often slapdash affairs, 1970's ALL THINGS MUST PASS is a brilliant piece of work. Produced by Phil Spector, whose expansive, majestic arrangements and sonic flourishes suit Harrison's songs perfectly, ALL THINGS MUST PASS eclipses everything the other Beatles recorded at the time (excepting John Lennon's PLASTIC ONO BAND). This sprawling triple record set gives the impression of Harrison being uncorked and pouring forth all of the songs and ideas edged out by Lennon and McCartney during the Beatles years.

In Utero is the third and final studio album by the American grunge band Nirvana, released on September 13, 1993, on DGC Records. Nirvana intended the record to diverge significantly from the polished production of its previous album, Nevermind (1991). To capture a more abrasive and natural sound, the group hired producer Steve Albini to record In Utero during a two-week period in February 1993 at Pachyderm Studio. The music was recorded quickly with few studio embellishments, and the song lyrics and album packaging incorporated medical imagery that conveyed frontman Kurt Cobain's outlook on his publicized personal life and his band's newfound fame.

Simon and Garfunkel - Bookends
MFSL Gold CD - Ultradisc II UDCD 732 (1998)
FLAC | EAC Cue + Log | FULL HQ Scans | ~235 Mb
Original Release 1968 | Folk-Rock

Track for track, this is Simon & Garfunkel's best album. By 1968, Simon had shed his more precious tendencies as a songsmith. Meanwhile, the duo and coproducer/engineer Roy Halee had become adept studio technicians. "America" and "Mrs. Robinson" displayed the kind of sonic breadth that would flower even more fully two years later with "The Boxer" and "Bridge over Troubled Water." Bits of whimsy ("Punky's Dilemma," "At the Zoo") and melancholy ("Old Friends," "A Hazy Shade of Winter") complete this autumnal album.

Legend is the 13th album by the Country rock band Poco. Rusty Young and Paul Cotton formed a new group called the Cotton-Young Band and prepared this album as a duo. However, ABC acquired the album and then decided to continue to use the name "Poco" for the band. When the album became successful, Poco drummer George Grantham found himself forced out of Poco without ever having quit the group.

Seventh Sojourn, released in 1972, was the seventh album released by The Moody Blues. With Seventh Sojourn, The Moody Blues replaced the Mellotron with a keyboard called the Chamberlin, a device similar to the Mellotron created by the original inventor of the device, Harry Chamberlin. It could simulate orchestral sounds more realistically and easily than the Mellotron. Seventh Sojourn managed to reach #5 in the UK, and became the band's first U.S. chart topper, spending five weeks at the summit to close out 1972
