“As far as Ozric Tentacles material goes, this is probably as good as it gets. This band plays a Gong-influenced space-rock style, with an emphasis on extended synth-and-guitar led jamming. There's lots of ethnic influence on the space-rock jamming on this album, which makes things a little more interesting. Deep, powerful bass and active drumming propel the often eclectic mix of lead instruments - guitar, synth, and various flutes and such. This is great - perhaps unequaled - stuff for putting on as soothing and occasionally rocking background music; but it's too samey and too repetitive and too long (at about 73 minutes!) for truly active listening. Nevertheless, there are some very interesting moments here, and this is heartily recommended to fans of the space-rock style. For others, if you're going to get an Ozrics album, this one's probably the one.”

“En Vogue's last album, 1992's Funky Divas, was one of the sexiest and most stylish R&B efforts of the '90s, but the divas just don't deliver this time out. Part of the problem may be that the quartet has been reduced to a trio with the departure of Dawn Robinson; the rest may be that longtime producers and svengalis Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy have taken a back seat to hired hands from outside, including the ubiquitous and always bland Babyface. Maybe we've seen too many other hot girl groups in the years in between, or maybe this collection of tunes is just a dud. But there's no denying that "Don't Let Go (Love)" lacks the spark of "My Love (You're Never Gonna Get It)," "Free Your Mind," and most of the other tracks on the last album-and unfortunately, it's the best this new collection has to offer.”

“Popular folk act Lindisfarne are a well-established mainstay of the genre. FOG ON THE TYNE was their second album and helped the band make its name. Lindisfarne's second album, Fog on the Tyne fulfilled and expanded on the promise of their debut, offering a brace of memorable folk-rock (or, perhaps more properly, acoustic rock) songs that were compared favorably with Bob Dylan's work and that of the Band, and even the Sweetheart of the Rodeo-era Byrds, among others, without ever sounding like any of them. "Meet Me on the Corner" and "Fog on the Tyne" are the two best-known songs here, but there's plenty else that's their equal, including "Uncle Sam" and "Together Forever." “Omega is one of the most successful Hungarian rock bands. Formed in Budapest in September, 1962 by the winds player László Benkő on organ and János Kóbor as a singer and rhythm guitarist, they initially performed covers of British and American rock songs, frequently changing the lineup of members. In 1967 Tamás Mihály came on bass, Gábor Presser joined on keyboards and began writing original music for the band (in 1968 György Molnár became a lead guitarist), contributing to the release of three LPs before leaving the band with József Laux, a drummer from 1962, to form Locomotiv GT. These first albums were heavily influenced by the music of The Beatles, but they also looked forward to the band's future more progressive, space-rock style. ”
