Ben Weasel may be controversial, but you can't deny he's writing the finest pop punk music nowadays. So just after the infamous punching episode, he put out this 7-songs EP. Worth a listen.., as always.

"King Of Power Pop" is the new studio album by Paul Collins (The Nerves, The Breakaways), one of the originators of the high-energy pop sound known as power pop. The album is a complete return to power pop, the sound he helped create and popularize, a sound that has seen a resurgence in recent year. Guests include Wally Palmar of The Romantics, and pop icon Nikki Corvette.

In keeping with the theme of their last release, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes decided to tackle the proud musical tradition of another country, rather than a specific genre. This time they set their sights on the land of the rising sun, Japan. What a pairing! Japan is the birthplace of Karaoke for pete's sake!
