| “ | Excellent conclusion to a famous era. The Rachmaninoff, being recorded in January, of 1956 along with the 2nd Piano concerto of the same composer, was the lasting tribute to two great musical performing together. They had their first meeting in April, of 1954 when the duo recorded the Brahms 1st, which was an astounding success, and critics along with RCA hoped that the two would do more recordings of famous concertos together. But, Rubinstein who loved to travel and make his place in the world, became almost non-existent after the Brahms session (which is available through Classics as LSC-1831, or the ARL1-2044 vinyl release of the stereo release), when RCA had big plans to record Rubinstein again with Reiner after their two weeks of concerts together performing these famous concertos of Liszt... | ” |
| “ | One of the 80's best albums! With the 1983 release of 90125 Yes pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in rock history. The album is notable for marking a radical shift in style, with Yes largely trading in their trademark 1970s symphonic progressive rock sound for contemporary, synthesized 1980s pop. The lead single, "Owner of a Lonely Heart," became #1 in the US and drove the album into the Top 5 helping it sell three million units during a chart stay of 53 weeks, by far Yes's most successful album. Other top-ten-heavy-airplay tracks include "Hold On", "It Can Happen", "Leave It", "Changes" and "Cinema" won the 1984 Grammy for the best rock instrumental. 90125 is their eleventh album and the first album since the breakup in 1980. It's the first album to feature Trevor Rabin, the return of vocalist Jon Anderson and marked the first time in twelve years that original keyboardist Tony Kaye had appeared with the group. Even with a new musical approach, the heart and soul of Yes still remains firmly intact on this unique work of pop-art-rock. To quote a line from "Owner Of A Lonely Heart," it will excite, it will delight | ” |

| “ | Second Helping helped define and create the Southern rock movement One of the finest of the Southern rock bands, Lynyrd Skynyrd's 1974 album follows the success of "Free Bird" and "Gimme Three Steps" from their 1973 debut and features their biggest hit single, "Sweet Home Alabama", an answer song to Neil Young's "Southern Man" and "Alabama". The song reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1974. Second Helping also featured "Don't Ask Me No Questions," "Workin' for MCA," and "Call Me the Breeze," the latter of which includes an acclaimed piano solo. Backed by a tight rhythm section and the mighty three-guitar attack of Allen Collins, Ed King, and Gary Rossington, singer Ronnie Van Zant turns in a legendary performance on the urgent blues ballad "I Need You," the cautionary "The Needle and the Spoon," and "The Ballad of Curtis Loew," With its fine writing and playing, and scores of hard-hitting Southern rock riffs and grooves, Second Helping captures the band at the height of its powers and assured Skynyrd's ascendancy to rock stardom and FM radio immortality. | ” |
