Eric Burdon & The Animals – Retrospective (DSD Remaster 2004)
Abkco | DSD Remaster 2004 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 512Mb+29Mb

If you are or ever were a big fan of the Animals, this is your album. If you just remember them from some of their more memorable hits and want to hear more, this is the album to have. It contains just about every single thing they did of note. I won't comment on the quality of the performances because everyone should have heard them countless times before.
What makes this rendition of their greatest hits very special is the remastering format…….

Eric Burdon & The New Animals – Psychedelic World (Comp. 2001)
Edsel Records | Comp. 2001 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 382Mb+45Mb

When the original Animals disbanded, Burdon fell under the spell of the times and made a hard left turn into psychedelia, the fruits of which are gathered here. Unfortunately, much of this material sounds indulgent and dated, full of half-spoken vocals, sitars, heavy channel phasing, and all the other bells and whistles of the day. Even if his reach exceeded his grasp, Burdon was always a crafty singer and the best songs here ("San Francisco Nights," "Monterey," "Sky Pilot") have a kind of uplifting nostalgic charm.

Eric Burdon – The Animals’ Hits And More (2005)
Rolled Gold | 2005 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 389Mb+20Mb

Here’s another version of the re-recordings, also released as “The House Of The Rising Sun” and “Sings The Animal’s Greatest Hits”.

Eric Burdon – Starportrait (Comp. 1985) (2-CD)
Polydor | 1985 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 229Mb+231Mb+20Mb

And now a nice 2 disc compilation with recordings from the years 1967-1969.

Eric Burdon – Sings The Animals’ Greatest Hits (1996)
Success | 1996 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 487Mb+7Mb

This album containing re-recordings is slightly different from “The House Of the Rising Sun” released by Disky, that I have posted a couple of days ago. However, in my humble opinion this “Success” version sounds better. Well, you can judge for yourselves (if you like).

Eric Burdon – The Unreleased Eric Burdon (1992)
SPV | 1996 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 389Mb+20Mb

This album is roughly the same as “The Unreleased Eric Burdon”. The tracklist is the same from track 01 up till and incl. 08. Track 09 (I’m Crying) is track 10 on TUEB…ah well, you can find out the remaining differences by yourselves :) !! It’s a must have for the fan and/or collector anyway !!

Eric Burdon – House Of The Rising Sun (2001)
Disky Pure Gold | 2001 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 241Mb+7Mb

This album is a 'best of'...sort of...!! Eric resings these tunes with a new band, so the tempo and production is different than the original 'album/radio' version. This is nonetheless a good album as it features the mainline songs, sung slightly different. Soul and emotion is still there in the tunes.

Eric Burdon – Good Times (Comp. 1992)
Polydor | Comp. 1992 | Rock Blues R&B | EAC RIP | FLAC+CUE+LOG+HQ-Covers (400Dpi) | 241Mb+7Mb

And….here’s the next compilation. This one contains 17 tracks, and is also a good introduction to the work of Eric Burdon with The Animals and with other bands.
