His music is an accumulation of bad habits acquired over a lifetime in music. One's faults are what makes one different: you need to make the most of them. He has been influenced by jazz, by French singers of the fifties and sixties, by Frank Zappa, Neapolitan music and many other things. The only music he really dislikes is too obviously commercial music.

Mostly remembered for their music, rich in sweetness and optimism, the Andrews Sisters were loved by the many troops they tirelessly entertained during World War II. During their career, the amazing trio recorded more than 1,800 songs and sold over 90 million records. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Andrews Sisters began their music careers when they were still in their teens. In 1932, they began singing accompanied by the Larry Rich Orchestra. Together, they toured the Midwest and performed in vaudevilles. Another group of sisters, the Boswell Sisters, of New Orleans, influenced the Andrews Sisters' Dixieland style. Soon, the Andrews trio broadened their style to include ballads of the swing era, South American dance songs, boogie woogie and other novelty sounds.

Adriano Celentano began his performing career as a comedian and impressionist in Milanese cabarets, then made his official singing debut at Milan's ice-skating rink during the First Festival of Rock And Roll in 1957. After that, all it took was three or four singles to turn him into one of the most idolised (and often most criticised) stars of Italian pop music. Already well known as a rocker, he went on to perform highly original ballads drawing from the most diverse genres (soul, tango, waltz, shimmy).

Like most British blues fanatics in the early '60s, John Mayall took his cues primarily from the stars of Chicago's electric blues scene. Both with the Bluesbreakers and later on his own, Mayall played a large role in introducing white audiences to electric blues. He was a leader in the emerging blues-rock movement, and his bands were an early proving ground for a number of future stars--Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce of Cream, Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones, and Peter Green, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac.

Robert Nesta Marley better known as Bob Marley, was a Jamaican singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He was one of the widest known reggae musicians of all time, famous for popularising the genre outside of Jamaica. Much of his work deals with the struggles of the impoverished and/or powerless. He has been called the Charles Wesley of the Rastafari movement for the way in which he spread the faith through his music.

Dutch rock singer Anouk has become not only one of the most successful performers in her native The Netherlands, but has also managed to duplicate her success in much of Europe.
In 2001, Anouk released Lost Tracks, a collection of unreleased material that had been culled together.
Anouk inherits her love for the blues from her mother, a singer in a blues band.

THE BEST OF ENYA is a collection of the greatest hits of the angelic-voiced Irish songstress. From her beginning days with Celtic supergroup Clannad, through her staggeringly succesful solo albums, her soaring, dreamy voice has captivated audiences worldwide, helping to make her one of the most succesful recording artists of all time. Enya created a style whose wide open soundscapes were reminiscent of New Age, but more melodic, heavily based on the traditional Celtic music that formed much of her early singing career.

Considered to be the greatest white female rock vocalist of the 1960s, Janis Joplin lived the rock lifestyle to the utmost. Her supercharged gritty vocals were unleashed with a powerful and uninhibited stage presence.

With guitar in hand and a talent that combined amazing vocal equipment, disarming humor, and a vibrant engagement with life, she was booked as the first solo pop/rock artist ever to appear at Woodstock and Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Opera House, the Sydney Opera House, and in the General Assembly of the United Nations. During her performance at Woodstock, for the first time in pop history, candles were lit (and thus began a tradition). My all time favorit - "What have they done to my song Ma.."

Cesaria Evora - Voz D'Amor

Cape Verde is famous for its Afro-Portuguese-inlfluenced music genres: the haunting guitar-based morna and the percussive Cuba- and Brazil-influenced coladeras. Ever since her "discovery" in 1998, vocalist Cesaria Evora, the so-called "Barefoot Diva," has been her country's greatest musical ambassor. This recording features Evora interpreting old and new Cape Verdean and Brazilian songs. Under the expert leadership of her musical director, pianist Fernado Andrade, Evora's rich contralto is beautifully supported by guitars, the ukelele-like cavaquinho, mandolin, strings, clarinet, and percussion. The title track features Evora in pan-African fellowship with musicians from Cuba, Brazil, and Madagascar, showing that the music of her homeland has something for everyone.
