The Twilight Singers - A Stitch In Time (2006)

EAC Rip | FLAC+CUE+LOG | 30 min | 150 MB
Label: One Little Indian | Genre: Rock

“

In anticipation for the Gutter Twins' debut, and following up an excellent album, Greg Dulli and the Twilight Singers released A Stitch in Time in late 2006 on iTunes, which did well enough for One Little Indian to issue the EP in physical form a few months later in the UK and in January of the following year in the US. Though the two songs with the former Screaming Tree Mark Lanegan (who had been touring as a guest to the band for a while by then) are covers (including New Zealand's Fat Freddy's Drop "Flashback"), the way the singers' voices, both rough with cigarettes and acceptance, work together, especially on the darkly pulsating version of Massive Attack's "Live with Me," promises something spectacular to come on their original material. The longing present in their voices becomes a nearly tangible being, subject to the same suffering that everyone else is, and as the guitars howl in the background, there's a sense of foreboding danger in the request, "I've been thinking about you baby; come live with me." Dulli's work with Joseph Arthur on "Sublime" is good, too, showing off his softer, less anguished side, and the originals, "The Lure Would Prove Too Much" and "They Ride," reflect the two types of songs, the sweeter, reflective ballad and the driving, carnal rock, that were found on Powder Burns. At this point, Dulli has already proven his versatility and immense talent as a musician, but that just means A Stitch in Time is a gift that you should be grateful to receive.

”

310 - Recessional

EAC Rip | FLAC+CUE+LOG | 54:35 min | 300 MB
Catalog#: BAY 33 CD | Genre: Electronic, Leftfield, Experimental, Ambient

“

'Recessional' sees American trio 310 build on previous releases with their most assured collection to date. Distilled from two years of work, includes four vocal tracks that accentuate the dreamlike narrative that emerges as the album is explored. This is very much a state of the art essay in studio technique, without substituting substance for style. The seamless mix of songs and instrumental pieces create a deep river of sound...from the lush, hypnotic opener 'Opposite Corners', through the ambitious, Eastern sounding 'Night On The Ocean', to the noveau prog of 'Exumix'. 'Recessional' will appeal to fans of Four Tet and Dntel, check.

”

Genre: Soul

“

Xavier Kurt Naidoo (born October 2, 1971 in Mannheim, Germany) is a German singer and songwriter of mixed Tamil Indian South African descent, who sings in German and occasionally in English. He is known for his soulful voice and has collaborated with several famous artists such as the Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, Deborah Cox and 3-P's Sabrina Setlur, along with the Swiss artist Stress. Many of his lyrics show his deep Christian beliefs.
He sings in a number of styles, including soul, R&B and hip hop. His most famous releases include "Ich kenne nichts", "20,000 Meilen", "Soul on Fire", "Dieser Weg", "Danke" and "Sie sieht mich nicht", which was featured on the German release of the film soundtrack for Asterix. Naidoo's popularity has massively increased since he joined groups like Söhne Mannheims, and Brothers Keepers and the charity project Zeichen der Zeit in the early 2000s. The first Album was only released in the USA and is called "Seeing is believing", but he was most successful with the 1998 released album "Nicht von dieser Welt". It reached in #1 Germany, #5 in Austria and #12 in Switzerland. He gained major success with the 2002 released album "Zwischenspiel - Alles für den Herrn". The most successful album was released in 2005, entitled "Telegramm für X". The German singer is planning a new album called "Alles kann besser werden". It will be released in October 2009. It is rumoured that Dutch artist Chris Berens will provide the cover art for the album. Naidoo is a collector and friend of Berens.

”

“

The Enkindels were the poppier, later form of the much-loved hardcore band Enkindel. Some people compared them to Rocket From The Crypt. That really wasn't accurate, however. If you go back and listen the sound of The Enkindels, it follows a natural progression from the later Some Assembly Required era material. These guys were The Hives before The Hives. A bit misunderstood in Louisville. A tongue in cheek Rock-N-Roll attitude that was lost on most local folks.

”

Eben Pagan - Self - Made Wealth | 2.92 GB

“

This course came as a bonus ONLY for the buyers of the "Get Ignition" Training Program. It went over 13 weeks total, and the content in there is just crazy. It doesn't matter wether you're beginner, intermediate or advanced, in your business OR in your LIFE, this training is for you. Eben talks about his 15+ years in internet marketing arena, and more specifically how he ACQUIRED through mistakes, pain and effort his WEALTH, mentally, financially, and business-wise.
This is really the most oustanding content I've ever happened to learn from, and believe me when I say it's not just full of good thinking, it will CHANGE your paradigm about wealth and money.
Quick note : most of the content on Eben members' area is available for download in MP4 and WMV formats. While this is cool because the size is quite small, the quality isn't that great. I've gone the extra-mile and for every stuff I'm going to upload from Eben, you will have the FLV version (much higher quality).

”

Genre: JMusic

“

On August 25, 1989, the five-piece Flipper's Guitar released their first album Three Cheers for Our Side on Polystar (named for an Orange Juice song). Ozawa - a student at top-ranking Tokyo University - wrote the band's English lyrics. The sound was straight-up Neo-Acoustic with nods to Anorak Pop and UK schoolboy culture. While the subject matter generally ranged from adolescent concerns like red shoes and cafe au lait, "The Chime Will Ring" was a grown-up realization that they were approaching the "end of youth." The lyrics to the similarly-themed "Goodbye, our Pastels Badges" contain a laundry-list of references to influential bands: the Boy Hairdressers, Aztec Camera, Haircut 100, the Monochrome Set, etc, etc.

”

Colt - You Hold On To What's Not Real

Colt - You Hold On To What's Not Real

EAC Rip | FLAC+CUE+LOG | 37:52 min | 196.37 MB
Genre: Electronic

“

It's been well over two years since the debut album from Colt, These Things Can't Hurt You Now So Throw Them In The Fire, emerged. That was a beautiful and twisted album, continuing on from the work they'd done so well as Living With Eating Disorders. It was never going to be a worldwide number one. The Tesco/WalMart buyers don't seem to have room in their shopping trolleys for sparse, bleak, gothic electronics. Not when there is a Mimi album on the shelves.
But for the rest of us, who've been following what passes for a career for Jared Hawkes and Andrea Kerr, it was a blisteringly emotional album that dragged you down and lifted you up, often within a single breath. And so, it was with more than a sigh of relief that news of a long overdue follow up EP was greeted with something approaching emotion 'round my way.
And to a large extent, it's more of the same. Which is a good thing as they've been honing their sound for a good few years now. Andrea once described her music as "getting so angry that you hold your breath and some of it is like feeling such despair that you give up. It's quiet and sad at times, and then it is seething and loud. Its like a child that is much, much too sensitive". And it is still all of these things, although as time has passed, the music has been drawing ever in on itself, until sometimes it feels as though you're being utterly crushed.
The four tracks on this EP - "DNA," "Snakes To Dust," "Black Rabbits," and "Static" are all close cousins of each other, as the otherwordly voice of Andrea swoops in and out of dark, dense, electronic relief. It's "Snakes To Dust" that is the Queen of Queens, as it insinuates itself slowly and seductively. Although there is nothing wrong with believing in fairytales, despite the implicit disapproval in the song. "DNA" runs it a close second, and is the single saddest song I've heard in years as Andrea sings of "I run blood over my arms, And rain soaks my back, So that my mind will now erase. All you were." Sometimes affecting, sometimes just downright scary, but always forcing, compelling you to listen. It's the kind of record that Portishead could only ever dream about making, holding more emotion in a single note than Beth Gibbons could summon up in a lifetime of recording.

”

“

Patricia Lynn Yearwood, professionally known as Trisha Yearwood (born September 19, 1964) is an American country music artist. She is best known for her ballads about vulnerable young women[1] from a female perspective that have been described by some music critics as "strong" and "confident."[2]
Originally discovered by Garth Brooks in the late 1980s, Trisha Yearwood signed with MCA Records in 1990. She came to prominence with her debut single, "She's in Love with the Boy" which became a #1 hit on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in 1991. Her second album release, Hearts in Armor (1992) reflected Yearwood's own personal issues, which won her widespread critical acclaim among music critics and further success in country music. Her later album releases such as, The Song Remembers When (1993), Thinkin' About You (1995), and Everybody Knows (1996) also demonstrated her creative control, featuring collaborations from Rodney Crowell, Willie Nelson, and Garth Brooks.

”
