The Idiots is about a group of young people who share one interest: idiocy. With a large house as their base, they spend all their spare time together exploring the hidden and less appreciated values of idiocy. They practise! The project is a manifestation of an explosive appetite for life in which they confront society with their idiocy. Nothing can be compared to the mutual feeling of success, every time their personal limits are transcended in yet another scenario.

This Dusan Kovacevic' drama talks about political paranoia of Ilija Cvorovic, ex-Stallinist, the man who spent two years in prison because of his activity. He follows and haunts a tenant in his house - who returned from France. Ilija sees in him agent of imperialist powers, enemy of the state and a foreign spy. The movie is true piece-of-art of Yugoslav cinematography of the 80's. Also talks about relations of hard-line communists and capitalists in liberal-socialist Yugoslavia.

The plot is situated in Dubrovnik and I get the impression that Zafranovic wanted to show how nice, beautiful and nonchalant life was before the war by making it to look like it is in renaissance. Three friends (a Croat, an Italian and a Jew) are having the time of their lives, singing, laughing, and having fun and girls. Then the war breaks and their friendship is eclipsed by their nationalities and religions. Instead of songs and laugh there are scenes of violence and killings. And the way in which Zafranovic has shown all that hatred between Croats and Serbs, Nazis and Jews is superb and frightening at the same time. I must mention one more scene that amazed me. It is the scene of striptease in the whorehouse. Maybe that's because of Tanja Boskovic, who is, in my humble opinion, the sexiest Serbian actress ever, but the camera work with cruising along the room and shooting it all at once with sliding back and out of the room with Tanja naked and the statue in front in the same pose is magnificent.

Skupljaci Perja, a film by Aleksandar Sasa Petrovic is one of the best film from Balkanian region! It's not just my own opinion. Whay!? It was an poem and sensuous originally made film, about live. Very sensitive, but with a passion. It is made in a way like Italian Newrealisam. With two excellent Serbian actors, Bata Zivojinovic and Bekim Fehmiu, this director successful had doing idea, which hi had imagine before the filming. It maybe some of the best film in the world if we just looking at film atmosphere, which Sasa as film-director have making. Also after this film Sasa start to be idol of many directors in the world. One of theme are now, some of the best in the World. His gypsy aesthetic start to be alphabet for many others film titles. In Balkanian region it means that Sasa was a good teacher for younger colleagues as Emir Kusturica and Slobodan Sijan. And everywhere and every time Themselves thanks to Sasha. Best regards! Radovan III is a play written by Dusan Kovacevic .Mayor role is played by one of the best actor ever in ex Yu, Zoran Radmilovic.It is a very complex play,and very tragic and above all very comical.Thanks to Zoran"s gift for improvisation,play originally lasted for 1.5 hour,used to last for 3,5 hour. Basik plot is war between two families ,who live in the same building. It is very important to know why!Vilotici,whom we don't see in a play,have a son who has made pregnant Zoran:s daughter Georgina 10 years ago(and she is still pregnant),and left abroad.There is variety of comical situation,but someone who is not from ex Yu will be very hard to understand.Anyway everyone should see this play and to try to understand,because it is a masterpiece!!!

Few Serbian films stand up to the standards expected from the Western cinema, but this one cannot be overpraised: everything that's already been said here is true, and then some! A masterpiece in the purest sense of the word. The Serbs say this is the best Serbian film ever made, which I think underestimates it -- it may be the best film anyone made in the 1980s. Released in 1982, when Yugoslavia was a functioning state, rather than international shorthand for murder and genocide, it casts a baleful look backward that becomes, in the light of all the subsequent blood, almost unbearably poignant and prophetic. It would be too much if it weren't constantly, brutally laugh-out-loud funny -- funny even in subtitles, funny as slapstick and deeply classically comic at the same time.
