Porcupine Tree - Up The Downstair (1993)
Exact Audio Copy FLAC (291MB) | CUE and LOG Included | CD Rip | RS.com | Progressive

This is the original mix without the re-recorded drum parts.

Up the Downstair feels noticeably different in tone from On the Sunday of Life -- the humor is nearly invisible, if present at all, and the focus is more explicitly up to date in keeping with Steven Wilson's long-stated belief that progressive music means incorporating the now instead of rehashing what progressive was.

Bad News, the parody of a bad heavy metal band, began as a 1982 episode (pre-This Is Spinal Tap) from the Comic Strip, an English comedy troupe whose members numbered three of the four Young Ones (Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmonson, and Nigel Planer) and writer Peter Richardson (other members included Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders).

Monster Magnet - 25........Tab (1991)
FLAC (366MB) | MP3 (320kbps CBR, 115MB) | CD Rip | TT: 48:48 | RS.com | Rock

Originally released on Glitterhouse in Europe in 1991 but only seeing an American issue two years later as Caroline took advantage of the band's newfound major-label status, 25........Tab for many remains the high point of Monster Magnet as extreme downer psych/space rock.

Farflung - 9 Pin Body (2002)
FLAC (299MB) | CD Rip | TT: 46:09 | RS.com | Spacerock

The music is vibrantly spacey while maintaining a solid rock presence. Grinding guitars crash with glee, alternating between overtly nasty guitar assaults and delicately strummed acoustic guitar strains.

Farflung - The Belief Module (1999)
FLAC (334MB) | CD Rip | TT: 51:02 | RS.com | Spacerock

Played and recorded on vintage instruments and equipment, Farflung's fourth album, The Belief Module, continues to reflect their fascination with Krautrock and space-rock, with a harder edge by way of Hawkwind.

Farflung - The Raven That Ate The Moon (1996)
FLAC (396MB) | CD Rip | TT: 1:15:15 | RS.com | Spacerock

In short: a great album - the songs are permanently switching between heavy and powerful rock-sequences - pushed forward by huge riffs - and inventive, strange and atmospheric soundscapes.

Farflung - 25,000 Feet Per Second (1995)
FLAC (245MB) | CD Rip | TT: 43:25 | RS.com | Spacerock

From Los Angeles, Farflung plays a high energy, often punkish brand of spacerock that is more like a stealth bomber than an acid trip.

Eddie Hazel - Games, Dames And Guitar Thangs (1977)
FLAC (227MB) | MP3 (320kbps CBR, 79MB) | CD Rip | TT: 34:24 | RS.com | Funk

A hidden gem among the many Parliament/Funkadelic-affiliated albums released during the mid- to late '70s, Eddie Hazel's only official solo album may not sport any perennial classics and may be a bit short on content, yet it became incredibly revered in subsequent years following its quiet release.

The second Alice Cooper group album and things were starting to come together...

Alice Cooper - Pretties For You (1969)
FLAC (243MB) | MP3 (320kbps CBR, 89MB) | CD Rip | TT: 37:37 | RS.com | Classic Rock

The first Alice Cooper album is a real oddity baring few signs of what was to come.
