Even though it's a repeat, it’s a great mix of songs and bon-mots in this episode. Because the themes are quite diverse, Bob has more freedom and it shows.

It’s a very eclectic mix of songs and bon-mots this week. Some strange songs too. Guess some of em sound strange now as the social reaction to tobacco has mutated significantly down the years. We therefore get a hell of a lot of somewhat obscure stuff from the likes of Tex Williams, Joe Maphis, Steve Purdy, Paul Chaplain etc. And that is one of the main joys of the show - hearing stuff like this that you would otherwise not come across in a month of Mondays!

We get a lot of somewhat obscure stuff from the likes of Paul Bascomb, Jerry McCain etc, we get the great Bo Diddley, lotsa rockabilly and ubsubtle sexual innuendo (well a cadillac is basically a giant cock!), chicky runs, 1001 Arabian Nights, Hank Williams' death and a carload of wonderful Dylan wit.

Quality EP follow up to this year's Easy Tiger from Ryan Adams with 7 songs, a mixture of new and old with some covers also. Well recommended.

One of Nick’s earlier forays into movie soundtracks. This time for a movie co-written by Cave with Aussie director John Hillcoat. The two teamed up again last year to great effect with the Oz Western “The Proposition”.The film's score was actually written by Nick Cave, Blixa Bargeld and Mick Harvey, all members of Cave's band, The Bad Seeds. This is an excellent soundtrack, matching the dark realness of the movie.
