In the near future, oil reserves are nearly depleted and Europe is connected by series of underground tunnels. While navigating these tunnels, Roger hears voices, one in particular. Seeking a way to rid himself of the voice only leads Roger deeper into a bizarre conspiracy of control - mind and body.

In the not too distant future in Orange County California, an undercover narcotics agent is known internally in the force only by his code name, Fred. His identity within can be kept secret as the scanning suit he dons hides his true identity. In reality, he is Bob Arctor. His assignment is to infiltrate a drug ring dealing in a hallucinogen known as Substance D, the ultimate goal to find the source of the drug. Arctor's own use of Substance D and moving within this drug world is making him lose his true identity, which includes a family life with two young daughters. As Fred, he is also assigned to monitor his own movements since one of Arctor's drug colleagues, James Barris, has come to the authorities to report Arctor's drug dealings, although Fred's superior, code named Hank, knows that Fred in his true identity is one of the people in the drug ring being monitored. But Hank and Hank's colleagues will do anything, even sacrifice Fred/Arctor, to achieve the ultimate goal of finding the source of Substance D.

The story is set at the beginning of the 20th century in Sicily. Salvatore, a very poor farmer, and a widower, decides to emigrate to the US with all his family, including his old mother. Before they embark, they meet Lucy. She is supposed to be a British lady and wants to come back to the States. Lucy, or Luce as Salvatore calls her, for unknown reasons wants to marry someone before to arrive to Ellis Island in New York. Salvatore accepts the proposal. Once they arrive in Ellis Island they spend the quarantine period trying to pass the examinations to be admitted to the States. Tests are not so simple for poor farmers coming from Sicily. Their destiny is in the hands of the custom officers.

While they're having dinner two men approach them and instructs them to stand up and go with them. They think the men are with the restaurant and want to talk to them about taking someone else's reservation. But it appears the couple whose reservation they took crossed someone and the two men work for this person. The men are after something, but whatever it is they don't have it.

Practically from the start, however, there’s something wrong: Iasonas experiences events one moment and then reimagines them later in a different way. He says he doesn’t take pills, but then he’s seen with his medication; she says she forgot her toothbrush, but there it is in the bathroom. A current of barely suppressed violence runs through Iasonas’ thoughts, as he’s no longer able to distinguish between what’s happening now and what he’s reliving. As things go horribly awry with Penelope, he tries to rectify in the past what he knows will happen in the future, but it becomes impossible to distinguish reality from his crazed imaginings.

The Dutch movie “Moonlight” follows a young girl name Claire (Laurien Van den Broeck), an isolated girl who, as we first see her, has just gotten her period. Claire lives with her wealthy adopted parents in a luxurious house in the woods, near an omnipresent airport; the home’s location is a source of angst for all, and the psychiatrist father has already made arrangements to move the family back to the city. On the same day Claire gets her period, she discovers a young foreign boy hiding in the shed. The boy has been shot by drug dealers who had used him as a mule to carry drugs into the country. Now that they no longer have any use for him, the drug dealers shoot the boy twice, but he survives despite the odds. Instead of informing her parents, the oddball Claire decides to take care of the boy’s wounds herself; then, at the eve of the family moving, Claire runs away with the boy, even as the drug dealers circle the area looking for them.
“Moonlight” gives the impression of being a crime thriller in its first few minutes, but quickly turns into an adolescent story about Claire’s inability to come to terms with her life and her past as an abandoned child. Despite the love of her new family, Claire is unable to forget how she came into the world. The appearance of the boy (who is never given a name) is a reminder to Claire, who promptly takes charge of the situation and treats the boy more like a child rather than an equal. Oh, and the maturing Claire also takes the opportunity to use the boy to experiment her newly discovered sexuality.
