With honest and personal lyrics, William Clark Green’s music lures-in and relates his audience to real-life inspiration. Growing up in small-town Flint, Texas, Will started writing at thirteen.

After some practice and encouragement, Will opened for The Dragliners in College Station. However, being only fourteen at the time, he forgot almost all the lyrics to his diligently-rehearsed show. But, with free guitar lessons at his hometown church and local shows, Will became more confident and prepared for larger venues.

Ever since Elton John and Bernie Taupin released Tumbleweed Connection a variety of artists have dipped into that old west quasi-country world, a place somewhere between Triple A and Country radio, but not really part of either. "Acadian Driftwood" is a strong opening track, pedal steel, accordion and violin all played with a grasp of what the methodical and understated artist has in mind.

2009 | Genre: Folk | Americana | Songwriter

"Not Far Now" is Richard Shindell’s first collection of new original songs in five years, and he knew it was overdue. Widely acclaimed as one of today’s finest narrative songwriters, Shindell has a rare gift for using detail to illuminate his characters’ motivations and actions without ever getting mired in minutiae. Not Far Now’s nine new compositions (complimented by a pair of outside songs) are haunting vignettes that exist vividly beyond the song that documents them: Shindell gives the listener a window into these lives, but their story continues long after the window is shut.

The Ralph Roddenbery Band is a dynamic blend of Americana, roots rock, and a twist of blues. By combining four part harmonies with energizing riffs, captivating lyrics, remarkable stage presence and a driving rhythm section, RRB is able to connect with their audience in a way that makes them feel as if they are having a one on one conversation about life. In a review from the Charleston City Paper, Michael Andrews stated that Ralph Roddenbery has a “undeniable knack for tapping into the emotional undercurrent of his songs, many of which are just as likely to make you laugh as they are to cause moistening of the lids all within the same four minutes.”

One of the tightest bands in all of country music, and definitely one of the most talented, it’s a shame to see The Derailers making hardly any inroads on the charts despite over a decade of some of the finest Bakersfield country since Buck Owens and his Buckaroos ruled the roost. It only proves what real country fans have known for years: real country is not appreciated on country radio or in Nashville.

MP3 | CBR 320 Kbps 44100 Stereo | 102.45Mb
2008 | Genre: Country | Pop

Dawn McCoy's MySpace lists her as pop/country, but really I think she's neither and yet both. Her CD is a lesson in fun. I get so tired of having to label things and think that a lot of music just needs to be categorized as a good time rather than country, pop, rock, whatever. Why must it be classified by a name rather than just by how it makes you feel?

George Canyon "What I Do"
MP3 | CBR 320 Kbps 44100 Stereo | 100.13Mb
2008 | Genre: Country | Songwriter

For most fans in the United States George Canyon is but a footnote in the history of country music for his runner-up status on the 2nd season of Nashville Star. While George did release one album in the states on Universal Records South, he has had a remarkable run of success in his Native Canada. He's won numerous CCMA and Juno (Canada's "Grammys") awards since 2004 and even released a cover album of his favorite 'classic' Country songs in 2007.

Josh Ward, lead singer/songwriter, and Neal Cowan, lead guitar player, made their start at open mic nights and singer/songwriter competitions that received a great response from listeners. Ready to take that next step, Neal and Josh began the process of putting together a band that would emulate the soul of Texas country music.

Randy Rogers Band "Rollercoaster"
MP3 | CBR 320 Kbps 44100 Stereo | 112.96Mb
2004 | Genre: Country | Red Dirt | Songwriter

This Texas band's guitars rock with an authority their Nashville counterparts rarely manage, but the songs on this Radney Foster-produced disc are pure country, such as Somebody Take Me Home, in which a guy takes to sleeping on the floor when the memories in his bed crowd him out.
