Dream Theater - Metropolis 2000: Scenes From New York (DVD) [2001]
DVD9 - ISO+MDS | PAL 4:3 | Audio DD 2.0 | Genre: Prog. Meta | 190 min l | 7.65 Gb
Lang: English | cover & label incl.

Like many progressive-rock groups from King Crimson, Pink Floyd, and Yes to Genesis, Rush, and Queensryche, Dream Theater has followed its own musical and artistic agenda, trends and hipness be damned. That single-mindedness is borne out on Metropolis 2000: Scenes from New York, a full-length concert video shot at Roseland Ballroom in New York City in August 2000; it was the final show on the group's tour supporting its release Scenes from a Memory. With its intricate rhythms and complex song structures, Dream Theater's music is serious and somber to a fault; when gospel singer Theresa Thomason and a backing chorus are brought on for a few numbers, the effect is strangely soothing, as if a layer of humanity smothers the impeccable craftsmanship. The video is decked out in visuals of a mostly silly sort, often literally spelling out the album's narrative (or what passes for it), including reenactments and a portentous narrator. It's all cleverly put together (drummer Mike Portnoy gets director credit), and Kevin Shirley's audio mixing presents the music with clarity and undeniable power. Fans of Dream Theater won't need to be told to snap this up; those unconvinced, however, are not likely to become converts. ~ Kevin Filipski @ Amazon.com

This fantastic live release contains the last performance of Scenes From a Memory in New York City, audio commentary of the concert from all DT members, a behind the scenes documentary, a world tour photo gallery, and still another hour of bonus material.

DVD5 VIDEO_TS folder | Audio DD 2.0 & 5.1 | Christmas Classical | 3.97 Gb | 90 min
Language: German - Subs: English, French and Dutch | cover & label incl.

Are you looking forward to Christmas as much as we are? Relaxing by an open fire, the wonderful smell of pine needles from the Christmas tree with coloured lights, delicious food, good company with family and close friends, and perhaps some special Christmas music wafting through the house? This DVD will bring you even more of the festive atmosphere. André himself says it’s the most beautiful Christmas concert he’s ever given. As well as the orchestra and choir, there are three superb sopranos, and maybe the most heart-warming performers in this concert are the Japanese children’s choir with voices like little angels! Of course all of this is placed in a sumptuous Christmas setting with the most atmospheric decor and lighting you can imagine. A fantastic Christmas present, for yourself or those you love!

Paul Schwartz - State of Grace III
Flac | Easy listening | 289.30 mb | covers incl.

To even begin to describe the music on this CD is difficult...it's like trying to describe what God looks like. Not only is the music just incredible, but the two female singers have to be the best two voices on the planet. Luker's Salve Regina had me in tears at the end (and I am getting all misty eyed just thinking about it now). Scott's singing is just remarkable. If Angels sing they sound like these two women. For heaven sake just listen this album!!!

From the violinist/vocalist you've seen with Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Kitaro, John Tesh and Bon Jovi, this is an exotic blend of world, rock, and pop that will make you slow down, grab some friends, and have a glass of wine.

Transatlantic - Live In Europe (Limited Edition, 2DVD/2CD) [2003]
Genre: Progressive - live concert | DVD9+5 | PAL - 4:3 | audio PCM 2.0 & DD 5.1 | CD - wav (sep. files) | 10.5 Gb[/i]

TRANSATLANTIC is Prog's premier super group. A truly illustrious collection of amazing talent that push the barriers which redefine the meaning of a progressive rock supergroup! Of course thats no surprise, looking at the all-star line-up: keyboardist / vocalist Neal Morse (Spocks Beard), drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), guitarist Roine Stolt (Flower Kings), and bassist Pete Trewavas (Marillion). Together with the guest Daniel Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation), these multitalented guys have created some truly amazing music.

This was the pinnacle of the Transatlantic trip. We were four days into our tour of Europe and it was the perfect time. We were together enough not to have to worry so much about making mistakes, and fresh enough to really enjoy the music, the audience, and each other. Pete, Roine and Mike were in rare form and I recall thinking what a gas it was. It was the only gig I've ever done where the audience wouldn't leave until we played another song. A wonderful gig I'll always remember. ~ NEAL MORSE

Black Sabbath - Rock Of The 70's DVD [Yorkshire Television - 1970]
DVD5 - ISO | Audio PCM 2.0 | Heavy Metal | 59 min | 4.15 Gb

One can make the case that the Beatles, while the most important band of all time, wasn't the most influential. Decades after Black Sabbath laid down the commandments of heavy metal, lyrically, not for the squeamish; musically, dynamic and resolutely heavy, their impact remains improbably undiminished. One needed only to hear the first notes of the eponymous track on their eponymous 1970 debut to know that a new régime had arrived. And while one could (and should!) have mocked them, they would not be stopped.

Marillion - Recital of the Script (1983-2003)
DVD | Audio PCM 2.0 | Progressive | 4.35 Gb

Great LIVE DVD with Fish in 1983.
Unlike the original tv clips (Kayleigh as example), the songs are complete, even Grendel for a long 18 minutes !!!!
If you like Marillion for the same reasons, the electric guitar and Fish's voice, you will love this DVD.
As a bonus, the crowd is very quiet !!!!!

RUSH R30 - 30th Anniversary World Tour (2 DVD) [2005]
DVD | DD 5.1 | 70's Progressive Metal Rock | 4.33 + 4.35 Gb | HR cover incl.

RUSH is a pioneering line-up of the Seventies Progressive rock, who influenced most hard-rock and even heavy-metal power trios. This brilliant band is composed of bassist-singer Geddy LEE, guitarist Alex LIFESON and famous drummer Neil PEART. In 1974 John RUTSEY was replaced by Neil PEART who also assumed the role of the band's primary songwriter. Their instrumental virtuosity is mind-blowing, their lyrics are some of the best I've ever read, and every album they've released contains a shattering classic. Through their 20+ year career, they've proved to be the masters of their respective instrument while creating incredible music.
RUSH R30 - 30th Anniversary World Tour DVD features Rush's Frankfurt, Germany concert in September 2004 near the close of their 30th Anniversary World Tour.
The performance was captured with 14 cameras in high definition and is presented in 16:9 widescreen format. Songs include the exclusive "R30 Overture" (an instrumental medley of "Finding My Way," "Anthem," "Bastille Day," "A Passage To Bangkok," "Cygnus X-1," and "Hemispheres), "Xanadu," "Subdivisions," "Red Barchetta," "Summertime Blues" (from last year's covers EP Feedback), and the "vault" track "Between The Wheels" which hasn't been performed live in 20 years.
