Digital Capital: Harnessing the Power of Business Webs
Harvard Business School Press | ISBN 1578511933 | May 2000 | PDF | 2 Mb | 320 pages

God forbid that doing business and making money on the Internet should bear any resemblance whatsoever to the past millennium of bricks-and-mortar capitalism--that would be too easy. Nope, it's a whole different ball game now, and the new rule is: adapt or die. At least that's the message behind Digital Capital. From the three principal cyberconsultants at the Alliance for Converging Technologies (one of whom, Don Tapscott, authored the bestsellers The Digital Economy and Growing Up Digital), comes a paradigm for global takeover: the business web, or "b-web" for short. In their words, b-webs are "strategically aligned, multi-enterprise partner networks

The Leader's Guide to Lateral Thinking Skills: Powerful Problem-Solving Techniques to Ignite Your Team's Potential
Kogan Page | ISBN : 0749440023 | 2003-06 | PDF | 192 pages | 0.85 Mb

At times when management literature abounds with dos and donts based on conventional wisdom, here is a powerful defender of the values of unconventional wisdom. Paul Sloane makes a strong case for innovation and lateral thinking in business, where doing new, different things in new, different ways is more important than doing the same things more efficiently. The book is rich with examples from the real world where creative thinking and action have led to astonishing successes (even after numerous failed attempts)and examples where conservatism and conventional thinking have led to obsolescence or catastrophe. The author argues that creative skills can and should be developed at the individual level, the team level and the company level and the book abounds with tips and techniques to help people and organizations expand their potential for innovation. Lateral thinking puzzles placed at the end of each chapter, help reinforce the fact that we all think "in boxes" with assumptions and preconceptions that do not always correspond to reality. An excellent book.

Strategic Business Planning: A Dynamic System for Improving Performance & Competitive Advantage
Kogan Page | ISBN 074943807X | 2003-02-01 | PDF | 352pages | 1.15 Mb

Great Proffessional Reading. I have really enjoyed this book. There are a few chapters that are oriented more for a seminar development, but I found the reading to be very education. The material is not presented as a "text book", but it can be used to develope strategic planning sessions.

Lyndon B. Johnson: Portrait of a President
Publisher:Oxford University Press, USA (2004-01-08) | ISBN:0195159209 | PDF | 1.5 Mb | 396 pages

Robert Dallek's brilliant two-volume biography of Lyndon Johnson has received an avalanche of praise. Michael Beschloss, in The Los Angeles Times, said that it "succeeds brilliantly." The New York Times called it "rock solid" and The Washington Post hailed it as "invaluable." And Sidney Blumenthal in The Boston Globe wrote that it was "dense with astonishing incidents." Now Dallek has condensed his two-volume masterpiece into what is surely the finest one-volume biography of Johnson available.

Comparative Primate Socioecology
Publisher: Cambridge University Press(2001-08-06) | ISBN:0521004241 | PDF | 2.5 Mb | 424 pages

Comparative studies have become both more frequent and more important as a means for understanding the biology, behavior, and evolution of mammals. Primates have complex social relationships and diverse ecologies, and represent a large species radiation. This book draws together a wide range of experts from diverse fields, such as reproductive biology and foraging energetics, to place recent field research into a synthetic perspective. The chapters tackle controversial issues in primate biology and behavior, including the role of brain expansion and infanticide in the evolution of primate behavioral strategies. The volume also presents an overview of comparative methodologies as applied to recent primate research.

Coming Home to the Pleistocene
Publisher: Island Press(2004-02-01) | ISBN-10: 1559635908 | PDF | 1.79 Mb | 237 pages

"When we grasp fully that the best expressions of our humanity were not invented by civilization but by cultures that preceded it, that the natural world is not only a set of constraints but of contexts within which we can more fully realize our dreams, we will be on the way to a long overdue reconciliation between opposites which are of our own making." --from Coming Home to the Pleistocene

Paul Shepard was one of the most profound and original thinkers of our time. Seminal works like The Tender Carnivore and the Sacred Game, Thinking Animals, and Nature and Madness introduced readers to new and provocative ideas about humanity and its relationship to the natural world. Throughout his long and distinguished career, Paul Shepard returned repeatedly to his guiding theme, the central tenet of his thought: that our essential human nature is a product of our genetic heritage, formed through thousands of years of evolution during the Pleistocene epoch, and that the current subversion of that Pleistocene heritage lies at the heart of today's ecological and social ills.

Peter Collier, David Horowitz, The Anti-Chomsky Reader
Encounter Books | ISBN 189355497X | 2004 | PDF | 0.8 MB | 275 pages

Beginning with his criticism of the Vietnam War in the 1960s, MIT professor Noam Chomsky has become better known for his radical politics than for his theories of language. These essays scrutinize both the theories and the politics: linguists Paul Postal and Robert Levine reevaluate Chomsky's linguistics to find parallels with his politics; scholar Paul Bogdanor explores Chomsky's hatred of Israel; Ronald Radosh and David Horowitz discuss Chomsky's gloating reaction to the September 11 attacks; and other authors examine Chomsky's Holocaust revisionism, apologies for Khmer Rouge tyrant Pol Pot, and strident views on America's policies in Latin America.
