“Unvisited places by tourists in your country”
Attention! AvaxHome.ws is happy to announce a contest for the best picture – the theme is “Unvisited places by tourists in your country”.
This contest is open to everyone, that is in case he or she agree to the rules of conduct.
Let me describe the following scenario for you – imagine you are a tourist guide which has to impress a group of tourists that have seen and done it all, and that same group is coming to your town. These tourists seen the Liberty Statue in USA, an Eiffel Tower in Paris, Moscow's Red Square in addition to pyramids in Egypt, the Parthenon in Greece, Stonehenge in England, and much much more. In another words, they probably will not be interested, to say the least, in what local tourist guides will have to offer.
However, each and every place on our planet has its own special hidden places where no tourist has ever visited and is known to local residents only. It could be anything, for example beautifully decorated night club, or it might be a pub where you love to hang out; an amazing view from the top of the roof, a secret path known to you and your friends alone; abandoned missile silo or mysterious coral reef cave, a rural cemetery with old church ruins – basically any building, structure or place which YOU WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SHOW EVERYONE ELSE first of all, and SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE REALLY INTERESTING TO LOOK AT second of all. And please remember (this is very important!) that this place should not in any case be a well-known landmark that is included in all tourist guides and routes. It would be greatly appreciated if in addition to picture description, you would attach the exact address of the places shown in your picture (this is not mandatory but this information would really help).
To participate you must take 4 following steps:
1) try to remember if there is an unfamiliar but quite interesting place in your area
2) visit this place and take a few pictures
3) choose the best one, give an extensive description (where is this place located, what do you know about it, what makes it special in your opinion and so on – the more interesting and complete description your picture gets, the better)
4) send these pictures and its descriptions to the following e-mail photo@avaxhome.ws, and wish yourself a good luck.

Winners of the contest will receive a gift certificates on Amazon.com as follows:

RULES OF CONDUCT
Contest will take place in two steps:
• first of all, there will be a qualification round during of which you will send us your pictures, and we will decide if it is qualified to participate in this contest (this step will take place between 21.01.10 and 15.03.10, upon its completion no more pictures will be accepted)
• all pictures chosen to participate in the contest will be displayed for a period of one month (between 15.03.10 and 15.04.10) in a specially created gallery for an open and free voting (during this period you will be able to invite your friends and relatives to visit your gallery and to vote for you)
The votes you receive will be definitely taken into consideration but the final decision is determined by AvaxHome.ws administration only, the main criterion being the most complete description of the contest theme.
PARTICIPANTS
The pictures you upload must be digital photographs you have taken yourself in any graphic format, and not less than 5 of them.
The maximum size should not exceed 5 Mb.
Minimum image size: 600 pixels in length;
maximum image size: 2560 x 1920 pixels.
The attached letter should contain, along with the picture itself, the following details:
• complete name and surname
• home address, specifying the country and zip code, phone number where you can be reached and an e-mail
• the most detailed and complete description of the pictures and the exact date taken. Applications without the above mentioned information will not be accepted.
Pictures should not have writings, frameworks or watermarks on them whatsoever. Minimal processing of the picture using graphic editing software is allowed, but not really welcomed.
COPYRIGHT TRANSFER STATEMENT
By sending your images to this contest you acknowledge and confirm the copyright of the images provided, and agree that the images sent can be used by the contest administration in contest related purposes and its promotion.
SPONSORS INFORMATION
By determining your prize and becoming the project sponsor, you will be allowed the place a link to your website on the contest web page (our website is visited by no less than 150 000 unique visitor each 24 hours) and in the contest gallery on a permanent basis.
