In this book John Bird introduces engineering science through examples rather than theory - enabling students to develop a sound understanding of engineering systems in terms of the basic scientific laws and principles. The book includes 575 worked examples, 1200 problems, 440 multiple choice questions (answers provided), and the maths that students will require is also provided in a separate section within the book.

Throughout the book assessment papers are provided that are ideal for use as tests or homework. These are the only problems where answers are not provided in the book. Full worked solutions are available to lecturers only as a free download from our textbook website.
