A mechanistic view of war and peace

The clinical observation of the behavior of man in injury and disease, under anesthesia and the influence of drugs, together with experimental studies of certain problems bearing upon human relations, have led me unconsciously to reach the conclusion of many scientists that man and other animals are physico-chemical mechanisms.
