A page-by-page, at times line-by-line, guide to the welter of historical references, scientific data, cultural allusions, anthropological details, jokes and arcane puns in which Pynchon's novel abounds. The book also analyzes Pynchon's use of language and dialect.

Thanks for uploading this book. Looks like that's exactly what I need to enhance my appreciation of Gravity's Rainbow. Luckily the Megaupload link is still active.
I have just one gripe. It says in the announcement that this is PDF. Well, on a superficial, technical level this is true. The file has a .pdf extension and it opens with the Adobe reader. But there it ends. You can't use any of the text-related functions that are part and parcel of true PDF documents - searching for text strings is the first and most basic one that comes to mind.
Instead, what happened is that somebody scanned the pages of the book - not using any OCR software - and placed the page images into a PDF document. It's still very useful when you're reading the text sequentially, but if you want to find other references to the same subject - forget it.
I appreciate that it must have been a lot of work to scan all these pages and I don't want to sound ungrateful. But I'm just wondering, if, with a little bit of extra effort, this couldn't have become something really great.
But first and foremost. THANKS.
