Elementary Induction on Abstract Structures Dover Books on Mathematics

This monograph originated with a seminar I gave at UCLA in Winter 1972. I wrote an extended first draft of the first seven chapters in Spring 1972, while on leave from teaching on a Sloan Fellowship, and in Summer 1972, while on a research grant from the National Science Foundation. The project was mostly finished in the fall of that year, while I was teaching a course on Inductive Definability at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.Madison.I am grateful to the Sloan Foundation and the National Science Foundations for their support and to the University of Wisconsin for its hospitality.I am also greatly indebted to P.
