Summary: Good book for students not comfortable with matrix notations!
Rating: 5

I referred to this book when I took the second semester of Econometric Analysis at the U of MN. I also referred to this book while writing my own book titled "Econometric Analysis Using the SAS System." Honestly, when interpreting the text by Wooldridge and Greene with respect to Instrumental Variables and Simultaneous Equations, I found that reading the text by Ashenfelter, et al made the concepts much more clearer. This text explains the concepts without using Matrix Algebra and allowed me to thoroughly understand the mechanics---thus minimizing the effort to interpret the same concepts to the more general setting as presented in Wooldrige and Greene.
