Quantum Dynamics of Complex Molecular Systems (Springer Series in Chemical Physics) by D.A. Micha (Repost)
Publisher: Springer; 1 edition (November 16, 2006) | ISBN: 3540344586 | Pages: 443 | PDF | 9.59 MB

Quantum Phenomena are ubiquitous in complex molecular systems - as revealed by findings from experimental observations based upon ultrafast spectroscopic techniques - and yet remain a challenge for theoretical analysis. The present volume examines and reviews the state-of-the-art in matching theoretical concepts and methods with the observed phenomena. Emphasis is on complex molecular processes involving surfaces, clusters and solute-solvents in various materials and biological systems using quantum dynamical, trajectory-based and statistical methods for the description of these processes.

Stability and Stabilization of Biocatalysts (Progress in Biotechnology) by F.J. Plou (Repost)
Publisher: Elsevier Science; 1 edition (November 24, 1998) | ISBN: 0444829709 | Pages: 778 | PDF | 38 MB

The volume brings up-to-date the work already going on, and identifies possible breakthroughs in the research. This timely book therefore presents cutting edge developments in topics such as non-covalent processes in solution, protein engineering and thermophile enzymes, immobilized enzymes, non-conventional media, and whole cells. An excellent addition to the available literature, it will make a useful contribution to this key area of applied biocatalysis.

Handbook on the Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earths, Volume 14 by Jeffrey M. Lemm (Repost)
Publisher: North Holland (August 7, 1991) | ISBN: 0444887431 | Pages: 484 | PDF | 8.07 MB

This volume differs somewhat from the previous volumes in the series in that there is a strong emphasis on the physical aspects and not so much on the chemical aspects of intermetallic compounds. Two of the chapters are concerned with relatively new experimental methods of studying rare earth metallic phases - high energy neutron spectroscopy and light scattering.

Handbook on the Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earths, Volume 15 by Jeffrey M. Lemm (Repost)
Publisher: North Holland (December 10, 1991) | ISBN: 0444889663 | Pages: 530 | PDF | 9.66 MB

Highly experienced authors have written each review usually at a level suitable for advanced postgraduate students and research workers from a variety of fields. With the great richness of information involving references to other review articles written from different points of view, the books are an important reference source and should be on the shelves of most libraries.

Handbook on the Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earths, Volume 16 by Karl A. Gschneidner (Repost)
Publisher: North Holland (July 22, 1993) | ISBN: 0444897828 | Pages: 608 | PDF | 10.42 MB

The first chapter focuses on one aspect of one of the most stimulating topics in the whole of lanthanide science: the dual valence state elements Ce, Pr and Tb (valences of 3 and 4) and Sm, Eu, Tm and Yb (valences of 2 and 3). The authors bring us up to date on the status of our knowledge of valence fluctuation and heavy fermion 4f systems as gleaned from neutron scattering experiments. The major topics include cerium-based valence fluctuation systems, cerium-based heavy fermion materials and ytterbium-based materials. The remaining quarter of the chapter deals with samarium-, europium- and thulium-based systems.

Packed Bed Columns: For absorption, desorption, rectification and direct heat transfer by Nikolai Kolev (Repost)
Publisher: Elsevier Science; 1 edition (October 3, 2006) | ISBN: 0444528296 | Pages: 708 | PDF | 137 MB

Packed bed columns are largely employed for absorption, desorption, rectification and direct heat transfer processes in chemical and food industry, environmental protection and also processes in thermal power stations like water purification, flue gas heat utilization and SO2 removal. These Separation processes, are estimated to account for 40%-70% of capital and operating costs in process industry. Packed bed columns are widely employed in this area.

Conductive Electroactive Polymers: Intelligent Materials Systems, Second Edition by Gordon G. Wallace (Repost)
Publisher: CRC Press; 2 edition (December 13, 2002) | ISBN: 1587161273 | Pages: 248 | PDF | 3.64 MB

Conductive polymers show significant promise for future uses…the potential application list keeps growing…Researchers working with conductive polymers would find this an excellent text to keep up-to-date on the most recent advances in conductive polymer technology. Building on the foundation created by the standard-setting first edition, this second edition provides a thorough introduction to conductive electoactive polymers. It examines several important electroactive polymer groups and discusses ways in which these materials can be integrated into structures.

Handbook on the Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earths, Volume 13 by Karl A. Gschneidner (Repost)
Publisher: North Holland (October 2, 1990) | ISBN: 0444885471 | Pages: 474 | PDF | 7.92 MB

The justification for combining reports of studies of the rare earths from the disciplines of physics and chemistry can be found in the historical reliance each has had upon the other in the apprehension of these mysterious substances. This was stated in the preface to the first four volumes of the series and is even more true today. For a time, specializations thrived more or less independently but as theory has become more comprehensive it has become possible to progress towards unification of these specializations.
