Star Trek ARMADA
PC:WinALL{not sure Vista&Win7!} | Strategy | 2000 | 700MB | ISO | (Rs.com & Megaupload.com)

Four Races. One Galaxy. Endless Strategy. Play as four distinct races in this 3-D real time strategy game set in the Star Trek universe.

I really have to share these system Requirements from the first part of the setup installer as it made me smile and reminded me of the good ol' days ... hehe enjoy!
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- 200 MHz Pentium processor or equivalent
- 32 MB of RAM (64 MB Recommended)
- 600 MB of uncompressed free hard drive space
- 3D Hardware acceleration recommended.

Wow. Isn't that brilliant?

Now please do not bother reading any further if your PC isn't up to those specs understand...?

Not being a great strategy gamer, I still installed and fully tested this for your sake. It works!
Using XP Pro SP2 and XP Pro SP3 too. No probs. My graphics cards old by todays standards ATI Radeon x1950 Pro 512Mb.
And yes, I did have enough hard drive space! Just enough RAM too but only 2GB. Oh and the ISO size is about 750MB but I can assure you it DOES fit on an average 700MB CDR. It burns it in a mode that means it fits. Trust me, I tested it!

Description
Play as four distinct races in this 3-D real time strategy game set in the Star Trek universe. Command ships, build star bases, jump through wormholes, assimilate the opposition, and more. The game takes place after the events in Deep Space 9 and follows several main characters: Worf, Picard, Lakutas, etc.
Here is a review from some random site:
Unlike the land-based (and often unplayable) New Worlds, Armada is centered around fleet-based combat. Its 2D playing field resembles the excellent Starfleet Command, but lacks the strategic micromangement of that title. Although most RTSs are structured so each race has their own scenario, in Armada you'll play through all the races as the story unfolds. Although this is both a plus and a minus, the ability to see the story from the Federation, Klingon, Romulan and Borg perspectives is a great feature.

Each race has four levels to themselves and then the final four levels allow control over several races. Most of the levels involve building defensive structures around your construction buildings while amassing an Armada to destroy the enemy, but some have unique objectives such as jumping from wormhole to wormhole in an effort to escape the Borg or infiltrating a prison to rescue a scientist.

The maps are largely well designed. Five different nebulas exist and have unique effects (like different colored kryptonite). Some nebulas shield your ships from enemy sensors, some deplete your shields and others restore damaged ship functions. There are also planets which exist beneath the 2D playing field, Dilithium Moons, and asteroid belts.

Sound effects were good, but I felt that music strayed too far from the familiar orchestral themes. Believability is sustained by Patrick Stewart, Michael Dorn and Denise Crosby who supply the voices for the characters they created.

Graphicly, this game reflects its age, but the opening movie is one of the most exciting ones I've seen. Ship models look great and weapon effects are impressive.

The game features a wide number of buildings and units and retains unique racial abilities such as assimilation or cloaking. There are also many special weapons available and unique to each races. One of the cooler ones (although it was used against me) is the Borg nanite infection which causes a scrambled interface for several sections.

Hey mate I suggest you RE-download either part number 2 or 8 or BOTH. The fact that it is those that are mentioned in the error usually means that those two files are corrupt.you see I have tested these thoroughly and, they have been download over a hundred times each already and only your complaint has come in so that tells me it is something at your end.
Please make sure to use the password as it is here with UPPER and lowercase lettering: MP3@3pm
It Does work.
Maybe your download got corrupted. It happens.

ten minutes later...
I have downloaded them now and checked them against the originals and they are exactly the same.
I just downloaded both parts 2 and 8 and they are exactly the same as the two files I still have on my HDD. I opened the complete set with those two newly downloaded files in place of the originals and all worked fine so there is definitely nothing wrong with those on RS.
Please try the download of those two files again and let me know if it works out.

Cheers

I have exactly the problem as hlloyge. I've tried repairing using RAR but nothing has changed. Seems that there is something amiss here, irrespective of what you say Fa. Thanks anyway.
