I had this in my 'Plannin to Post' folder along with the other 3 DVDs in the series. I'm so glad to see someone has already done it. I was hesitant to go to the effort of putting 10.5GB up in 50MB parts, especially with the present system that doesn't allow ftp or download managers for uploaders or downloaders. My heart-felt applause to the person that went to the effort to upload this for the community. Bringing up a question I have: I have several large posts I'm considering making here on AvaxHome. They consist of several DVDs or upwards of 12 CDs to complete each series. Can anyone suggest a strategy to make the effort of making posts of this size a bit more reasonable?

@freeloader i think the best upload is to make bigger files like 100 mb each, i've seen a lot of uploaders here in rapidshare do that, and otehr times they go for the 50 mb but takes more times, anyway, whatever you decide to do, just know that a lot of people on rapidshare will be so delighted and thankful for what you post cheers

@freeloader I think the best place to upload is megaupload.com or uploading.com because not all the people here have rapidshare accounts or fast connections. With slower connections there are lot of breaks during downloading and rapidshare does not allow one to resume downloads. So when you upload something on rapidshare you are really addressing a small group of people who have access to those sevices.

I was composing an answer to toutou. When I tried to copy and paste it to save it in case of its getting lost in the posting, I lost it. Coming back I see several new thoughts posted. To abreviate my concerns: 1. those on slow dial-up connections. 2. The time to upload to rapidshare or other file host. 3. The inability to use a download manager or ftp to d/l or u/l. My thoughts on dealing with these problems: I think I may begin to promote P2P by using e-Mule links instead of rapid share or other links in my posts from here on out. When I find a posting that is of interest to me here on AvaxHome that is large and contains several parts, I'll go to P2P (e-Mule) and download it there. I can almost always find what I'm looking for. I d/l it at night while I'm sleeping, and stop it in the morning to use my PC for other things. Because e-Mule is resumable, I'll restart it the next night and continue to do so until it is finished. It doesn't require the personal attention rapidshare and the others demand to download or upload all the parts. Plus, I'll have already weeded out the chaff. Only the good links that give what I wanted will be recommended. I'm still open to thoughts on the subject.

IMHO I think rapidshare is very good options to share things like this. The main advantage is in speeed and reliability. I am sure someone will upload these files to megaupload or so for those who are not interesting and patient to download it from rapidshare. It was discussed several times why to use rapidshare and most of us accept this option. Not to forget, kyl thanx again for this great share. Is it possible to upload DVD no. 1?

@freeloader all respect to what you said concerning P2P, yes it is a good idea, but rapidshare is by far the greatest downloading website i've ever tried, i downloaded from almost all the other uploading sites arround here, sexuploader, megaupload, and other servers, but i found that only rapidshare gives you a full speed even if you are not a premium member, i bypassed the broken download by using the Grabber, and using proxies, thats much faster than any p2p or any other downloading server greetings to everybody ( no offense to others who love other servers rather than rapidshare )

@toutou I have to agree that rapidshare is probably the most efficient of the file hosters around right now. From the perspective of those doing the downloading any way you can get your download is how you have to do it. I never have and never will squawk about how anyone makes anything available for me to download. If I want it, I'll do whatever is necessary to get it. But, from the perspective of one that is making things available for others, I have to invest more time in uploading the files than you have to to download them. After all I can only upload at about 2/3 of my download speed. Then, I have to upload each file under the same conditions that you have to download under as well as composing the posting pages. My complaint is that They do not allow FTP access or other convenient way to do the uploads with. It's too large of an investment of time just to make things available for others. I need that time to do other things for myself such as getting my own downloads done. If I can't find a way around this problem I won't be making many more uploads available. I'd like to do more, but it's looking like I may not be doing it because of time constraints.

@freeloader LOL just think for a moment that if everybody decided not to upload anything because he or she wants to get his downloads done from tomorrow, I guess there will be nothing left to download anymore. From where I see Internet is a share world. You get something it amuses you, you share somthing to amuse other. This is how it works. Even if one don't want to be a part of it there comes a time when one finds out something that one had been looking for quite sometime that makes him jump with joy and then one could not resist.

@Sarmad228 You can interpret what I said in my post as you care to, even though you get it wrong. The way most people place things up for others here is not the only way to do it. If there is an easdier way to get it done, why expend the effort when you don't have to? All that's necessary is for a few more people to learn another way to get their downloads. Thank you very much to kyl, the original poster of the photoshop dvd series, and to chuly and singles for providing the rest of the dvd set. I know that has helped take a load of time off kyl. Since kyl was generous enough to offer the whole set anyway, but didn't have the time and the broadband width, we would have to wait for a long, long time for the complete dvd if it weren't for chuly and singles pitching in to help. I took me more than a week to download the whole series. I couldn't imagine the time and effort it took to upload all of the dvds. And thanks to toutou for organizing the whole set into one easy less confusing link. :-) BTW, I know I'm a little greedy but does anyone has the code to unlock the last two bonus chapters of dvd 3. Chapter 11. Vanishing Point and chapter 12. Smart Objects.

i think you can register the dvd online give any name, and any email, and they will give you a code, i think i did that
