Vinyl lovers
In my blog you will find many treasures either from my collection or from various good will contributors. Here you'll get rare and highly sought vinyls in high quality (16 bit/44 KHz), we enjoy rescuing many albums that marked us in the past and are currently irreplaceable.

Audiophiles
As I said before, I only post in this section for vinyls. I don't pretend to compete with the music industry, as there are already great technologies around, such as Blue-Ray DVD, Mobile-Fidelity, SACD, Studio Master, etc. I'm very picky about good sound, but if there is one of these technologies already available, I step aside and let the stage to expert audio engineers and their proven products. In my posts you will find my rips in the format: Single FLAC + Vinyl LOG + CUE file

Images and Album art (for everybody)
This is a very sensitive issue for me, as I think that album art is as important as the audio itself. In this issue, I try very hard to compete with the industry that actually killed the wonderful vinyl album art. In my opinion, not even audiophile reissues have managed to overcome the old and incredible vinyl album art. In my posts, you'll find 100% high quality album art, with all the extra material that CD and DVD formats have deprived us: gatefold covers, inserts, booklets and labels, all scanned at real size (1:1) and 300 dpi. For this purpose I use scanned images and not photographs due to the latter poor visual results: brightness and image distortion, color range changes. Additionally, I design CD front and back covers trying to maintain the original vinyl art concept.

Back in Holland, this time with the great symphonic-rock genre. On stage we've the group 'Trace' formed by two cousins Van Der Linden (Rick and Pierre), together with Jaap Van Elk. What I can say about them? Much! Rick Van Der Linden is like the dutch counterpart of Rick Wakeman. Excellent use of keyboards, lot of Mini-Moog and tons of Mellotron (I feel rewarded by the predominant use which gives). The LP is very entertaining and fusion of classical music with rock, gives a result very powerful.
This album should be a must in the club for lovers of seventies keyboards.

Spanish.

Rick and Pierre were most certainly not brothers.

Thanks so much for this Fran! I'm very familiar with Focus, but never heard these guys before. Thank you again for introducing me to some more incredible music!

Thanks Fran

Wow, this beautiful album with keyboard virtuoso R. van der Linden
(he died too soon in 2006)
can replace my old "noisy" copy of this album.
Thanks Fran!

Wow! This is a good album. Birds is even better; hope to see it needledropped, too. I'll get this, it will also be an opportunity to hear your new system... Thanks...

Mea culpa: Rick and Pierre actually aren't blood brothers, but musical bros, yes. :)

Absinthium and Arend, Rick Van Der Linden is a phenomenon on the keyboard and also a great composer, knew of his death. Long live to Holland!

meurglys0, 'Birds' are on hold.

Regards,
Fran

That's amazing. I completely forgot about this album, even had it on LP, but it's not in my collection anymore. What did I do with it? No idea.
Thanks. I wonder if I'll still recognize the music. Probably so, I think

Thanks, i'll give this one a go as i am a BIG Rick Wakeman fan.
Thanks for the opportunity!

Also FYI:
Pierre was Ricks second cousin, so they were actually really related,
but not brothers (except through music)!

Hi Fran, compliments for your improved equipment, Marantz with Shure is a good choice

Rick was the guy playing keyboards in Ekseption. He was not only a virtuoso but a real genious, a top piano concertist had he decided to go with classical music. He was one of the best students, EVER, in the Amsterdam Conservatory.

d'Avignon, never too late to change course. :)

Hamamass and rpn, thnx for the good info.

I believe that the best Trace's album is, by far, The White Ladies.

Eclectic and a bit inconsistent. The Wakeman-like songs are the best.

Thank you for this interesting post!
