Mozart: Maurerische Trauermusik K 477, Requiem K 626 (Jordi Savall) (PS3 SACD rip)
SACD Image (.ISO) = 2.31 GB | Complete Scans PDF (800 dpi): 76 MB | 5% Recovery
Classical | DST 1bit-2822,4kHz 2.0, 5.1

Mozart was an avowed Freemason, and his connection to the order became integrated with his compositional output. In 1785 he composed the Maurerische Trauermusik (Masonic Funeral Music). It was written in honor of two deceased brethren - Franz, Count Esterhazy de Galantha and Georg August, Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Mozart associated certain musical motifs with Masonic ideas. The rising interval of the major sixth and various rhythmic embodiments of Masonic ritual knocks were among the elements he used as musical symbols. Although the Requiem is not specifically Masonic in nature, there are aspects present including some of these musical motifs. This 1991 recording bears the signature of Jordi Savall's talent as a conductor - the intensity of emotion, clarity of structure and the emphasis on singing musical lines. This new multichannel re-mastering sheds new light on a true gem of the back catalog.

thanks a lot for this post.

I have got a hugh request: You posted J.S. Bach - Matthäus-Passion with Nikolaus Harnoncourt a while back as a MLP 6-channel 96Khz/24-bit version. I downloaded it and loved it. But I don't have a surround system.
So is there any chance to get from the J.S. Bach - Matthäus-Passion DVD-Audio also the MLP 2-channel 96Khz/24-bit version of it? Thank you so much in advance.

For computer playback, SACD ISO images are a bloated encrypted monster; I am NOT INTERESTED in ISO-only SACD rips.
If it was easy to extract only the stereo channels from the ISO, I would download the ISO, do the conversion to FLAC stereo, and then delete the ISO.
Unfortunately ripping the stereo channel "properly" to FLAC is not a straightforward task.
Posted By: wc2 Date: 03 Feb 2012 13:26:52
Derty2, then don't download the music! It's as simple as that. evaristegalois, please keep the iso files, my favourite format. Thanks for your great work and shares.
Posted By: derty2 Date: 03 Feb 2012 13:33:39
No wc2, your comment is just a backhander towards me and doesn't address the technicalities of what I said. Stop being a selfish twat and say something more constructive or else keep your snotty thoughts to yourself. Have you put any thought into how many computer users who have extreme difficulty doing anything with this ISO, such as APPLE MAC computer users? No you haven't, because your shiny new ISO toy is ready for download, and that is all that matters to you.
I don't have a hardware SACD player, I play stuff through a computer ...in stereo. Why do I need the monstrous bloat of the 5.1 channel in the ISO!? It is hard to "properly" extract the stereo channel from the ISO. So why doesn't the uploader ALSO offer a 2-channel stereo FLAC rip as well as the full ISO so everybody is happy?
Posted By: thehague Date: 03 Feb 2012 16:35:05
@Derty2, you're not paying for it, are you? So stop blabbering, don't down this one but find the ones you're looking for somewhere else. The esteemed uploader is doing this for free, so why complaining? Rather discourteous, don't you think? You're way out of line, using language like 'selfish twat'.

evaristegalois, please keep the iso files, my favourite format for SACD PS3 rips.

Thanks for your good work and if you want to also do the work that derty2 is too lazy to do, then all the better.

It's true that ripping out the stereo tracks is a little difficult, especially for those people that chose the locked in world of the Mac, but it is not impossible. These people made their Mac choice and now they also have the choice to use Windows tools in the Mac environment, via a dual boot system or a virtual Win OS.
However with all my releases, via torrents, I see (on average) 20 to 1 people going for the iso over the stereo versions, and as it is a deal of work to provide stereo tracks, even on Windows, I wonder if it's worth it sometimes. Especially when some people are so ungracious!

My only gripe is your choice of file hosts, but thank you for providing 3 to use.

Anyone wanting to extract the PCM 2-channel should refer to the useful tools posted by (the sadly-departed-from-avax) bambasm here:

http://avaxhome.ws/hraphile/mlp_dvda/Berlioz_Requiem_Munch-2005-2xSACD_Sony_PS3_Rip.html

I have a mac running XP on vmware fusion to allow me to use such windows-based tools. The foobar2000 plug-in works well.

Looking forward to the Requiem!

Many thanks for the post.

TreeFrog
You are right to point people to these tools, as they even include the Mac version of Saracon!
This little package has been downloaded 2167 times so far.

Now can someone advise me how best to download from these file hosts? Maybe using JDownloader?
I don't have a premium with any of these, nor am I going to buy one, with the market like it is right now.
I have premium with RS, HF, FF, FS and the suicidal vilesonic, enough is enough.

Well I loaded all the Filepost links (as they are the one Avax recommends) into JDownloader. I'll wait to see what occurs with this.
I don't hardly ever use JDownloader and right now it just says 'fatal error', with not one track looking like it might be downloading, but maybe it will get there by tomorrow, eh?

Update some hours later:
Maybe not.
I don't think this is going anywhere.
Looks like a waste of time.

Tried Deposit files next: this is what it says on their webpage that I have never been to before!
Attention! Connection limit has been exhausted for your IP address! Please try in 52 minute(s).
It's nonsense ain't it?

ManWhoCan wrote, "evaristegalois, please keep the iso files, my favourite format for SACD PS3 rips."

SACD ISO files are, without a doubt, the most important files to me.
Posted By: PainInTheA... Date: 04 Feb 2012 01:27:20
To me, the format of the files is secondary to the quality of music, sound, renditions etc. Sometimes I even BUY these things... (as most of us I guess). Sometimes a little technical discussion may be helpful, but not a comment like derty's "I am NOT INTERESTED in ISO-only SACD rips." BOLD ignorance, you see.

@ManWhoCan: After a few days of testing, I'm quite satisfied with multi-hoster-services like real-debrid.com or rehost.to (I find the latter more reliable with FilePost, but sometimes slower). Cheaper than ONE normal premium account and you have premium access to a variety of hosters (of course sometimes or some with problems). Works fine with an additionally, to a different folder installed JDownloader Nightly build.

@derty2
You're free to convert to your favorite format - why should someone else do the work for you?
Posted By: rpn Date: 04 Feb 2012 11:04:23
Thank you for the post. What we get here is the following: 2C_AUDIO, 2C_AUDIO, etc. This is not an ISO. Haw can I hear these files ? I have foobar wit the SACD plugin but does not accept theses files. Neither does AudioGate.

I only have a DVD recorder in my PC.

What must I do in odrder to be able to use the files ?

Thank you for your help.
Posted By: MiniBic Date: 04 Feb 2012 12:01:29
@rpn:

It looks like you unpacked the ISO. Usually SACD ISO files are not unpackable with RAR, but this one is.

But apart from that, the ISO can be used normally, i.e. dropped into foobar2000 and played (or converted to FLAC) with the foobar SACD plugin. Or burned to a DVD and played like an SACD in compatible SACD players

Posted By: rpn Date: 04 Feb 2012 13:20:40
@MiniBic, thank you. My confusion was because I had the ISO files to be opened by defualt by Winrar and I did not notice the extension.

It works great.

Thank you again.

GREAT JOB. SACD-R ISO are the best choice.....
Posted By: derty2 Date: 04 Feb 2012 13:50:53
@MiniBic - Dropping the ISO into foobar2000 and then using the fb2k converter to convert the 2-channel files to FLAC does not work correctlly as I said before; I've tried it. If it was that easy I would have done this by now and not left any previous posts. Some thing technical needs to be done and I am not clear about the exact method; I don't think it's just a matter of running a piece of software. I think ManWhoCan knows the exact method of how it is done; if he would like to outline the exact methodology here, then it would be extremely helpful. Thankyou.
Posted By: ManWhoCan Date: 04 Feb 2012 14:42:22
I have no idea how to use foobar to unpack an SACD-R iso to stereo flac. I have never tried to do it.
I got used to another method long before Foobar had any possibility to do this.
I stick to the old method I know, but I have also tried a newer version of the NON-foobar method.
Therefore I can't help anyone with foobar.
BUT
derty2 and probably many of you others, know where the sacd-blog is.
Full instructions are posted there and have been there in 'HOWTOs & guides' section since 8th September last year.
It's called 'Guide: How to convert the SACD-R ISOs Into FLACS.'

I have been trying to download this Mozart SACD iso from these shit file hosts since last night and I have the scans and 2 parts so far. Something, probably Jdownloader caused Firefox to crash and 2 other parts I hoped would arrive overnight never got here at all! JDownloader never got a single part from any of these file hosts. I have given up with it and turned it off.
Now I have one part downloading from filepost and another from netload, excruciatingly sloooooow! Net load only giving me 236 bytes per sec. That is not a typo. I said 'bytes' not KB! Filepost is on 20KB. Deposit files seems impossible to deal with in any rational way and I can't get anything from them except they say my IP address has reached it's daily limit when I have not even been there yet today!
Last night after many hours of perseverance I got a little promise of something from Depositfiles but it was a stupid HTM file not the proper rar. The htm when opened, says,
You are trying to download: AVMRQHR.part6.rar.htm
Sorry this download link doesn't exists

LOL these are real micky mouse outfits aren't they?

Please use file hosts for grownups!
RS is the best on the block, fast even for freebies and excellent for premium accounts.
File Factory works fine as does Hotmail, but I'm not sure about Fileserve at the moment, I don't see anyone using them.
I know it's difficult times for us with file hosts, But my experience of this bunch used here is that they are useless.
When there are much better alternatives out there, it's a real shame some people use this bunch of cowboys.

Having vent my speen over this totally frustrating experience with downloading this sacd I feel a little better.
But I wont bother next time. I could have ripped and post an SACD on the blog with the time I've wasted here.
Posted By: thinkandzap Date: 04 Feb 2012 16:24:08
thanks to MiniBic, using foobar2000 and sacd pluggin to convert sacd audio works well.

foobar is here http://www.foobar2000.org/download

pluggin is here http://sourceforge.net/projects/sacddecoder/files/latest/download?source=files

once you have downloaded the pluggin zip file, you must copy the foo_input_sacd.dll file into the foobar2000\components directory.

start again foobar, drag and drop the iso into the foobar window, you should see the list of the 14 tracks, if not retry the drag and drop. Select the 14 tracks, right click and select convert (conversion to wav is native, to convert to flac foobar requires a external encoder)

@PainInTheA...

Thank you very much for your suggestions regarding multi-hoster-services. As ManWhoCan pointed out, the provided hosts are the worse that I have dealt with. Finally getting this wonderful music downloaded was extremely frustrating. I hope that one of your suggested multi-hoster-services will solve this in the future.
Posted By: ManWhoCan Date: 04 Feb 2012 17:54:25
@ Globalbee3
Please can you up it to RS or similar host for grown-ups?
Posted By: Globalbee3 Date: 04 Feb 2012 21:40:46
@ManWhoCan
Please give me a day or so to do this (RapidShare). Super Bowl Sunday is near. I did experience much of what you lamented downloading this and getting the files to operate. Not a fun experience. That being said, I definitely owe you many times over and will do this.

Once again, I thank evaristegalois for this AliaVox - MOZART SACD ISO share. Jordi Savall music is always worth the effort.

File Post premium account works very well with jDownloader. I get speeds as good as anyone else (100MB/S or more). If you can't fight city hall, join them and pay the tax.
Posted By: ManWhoCan Date: 05 Feb 2012 01:01:18
I rarely use JDownloader, as Firefox seems to be fine at grabbing the links via all the premium accounts I have.
I hesitate to buy premium with Filepost right now as I don't really want to encourage it's use over RS which is by far the best for me.
But as you say, if people here keep using them, I may have to join city hall and cough up the tax.
How many cities can a person afford to live in?

@ ManWhoCan

File Post seems to be the current common denominator here at Avax. Before the mass suicides it was FileSonic. Some folks just keep getting stuck with the another lame horse.

@WhoIsHe
The disc of Matthäus-Passion only contains MLP 6-ch tracks. It is one of those DVD-A that have the downmixing information embedded in the data stream (I'm not really sure how this works, so if anyone knows more about it feel free to correct me). Sorry I can't help.

@ManWhoCan
I'm sorry to read about all your trouble with this filehosts. Netload is the only host I have premium with and only used depositfiles because is the only host I can remote to. Netload used to work fine before the MU shitstorm, maybe they are overloaded now.

I'm working on a solution right now with a multiple hoster service (thanks for the hint PainInTheA...). It's going to take me some time but eventually I will offer the files in rapidshare for this and my upcoming uploads.

And of course, if any of you guys is willing to share a mirror in the file host of your preference, I don't mind at all.

DSD really is the way forwards its all there - instrument texture , resolution , bass texture, air , realism , soundstaging - leaves the cd versions dead as a door stop(theres an idea) - cd versions now unlistenable. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, thanks would never have heard sacd otherwise.

I have to disagree with "derty2". I extract the DSDIFF stereo file from the iso with a batch I run overnight and delete the iso. I the DSDIFF in foobar using the DSDIFF pluggin. Sounds awesome, require little cpu since DST has been converted to DSD and I keep a 1:1 copy of the DSD stream. Also, I can play in 176k!
