Shadowfax was a musical group, best known for their albums Shadowfax and Folksongs for a Nuclear Village. In 1988 they won the Grammy for Best New Age Performance for Folksongs for a Nuclear Village. The group formed in 1972 and disbanded after 1995 when Lyricon player and leader Chuck Greenberg died of a heart attack.
Shadowfax made beautiful albums and their debut album is one of their best. Relaxed music, beautiful compositions and an excellent recording; Enjoy!
Note > No silence was deleted; please burn this album gapless..
Review:
On its debut album, Shadowfax was a contemporary instrumental quartet led by guitarist G. E. Stinson and Lyricon/sax player Chuck Greenberg, its mostly calm pieces full of carefully placed riffs played by clearly delineated instruments. A true ensemble, Shadowfax can be listened to with pleasure for its individual players and its group sound on this and several subsequent Windham Hill albums.

More Windham Hill rips will always be very appreciated.
Do you have the second LP ( "Shadowdance" ) ? If so, it would be great to listen in high-quality.
Most Windham Hill CDs have a good recording quality and a competent engineering for 80's, but unfortunately the CD pressings lost much details and presents a "thin sound", less organic and balanced than vinyl.
There are some recent japanese remaster of George Winston and Michael Hedges that improves a lot comparing to the original pressings, but the WH catalog is vast and I hope that some great titles (like this one) will never be re-released.
Have a good New Year passage!
Regards from Brazil.

No, I have no "Shadowdance"; but maybe later..
The 3rd (and last) Shadowfax album I have "The Odd Get Even" is on my "to do" list
Best wishes for 2012 for all of you!!
So I'll give it one try in the spirit of these sites. @DieRuskavalDie, what is your goal? many people are all here to share. [this is not my usual id before you go batshh#t.] we buy music and videos and share with others that do the same, like in all things, some people abuse it and some people are better than they need to be. it is when you are dealing with people. you would think if sharing is the goal, your goal, then what's the difference where the original comes from. And to most users, people looking for content, the "He takes other people's rips - against their express request not to" just sounds about credit and payment and not looking to share, so themselves get as much payment as possible. And does he really get paid a lot of money? How much?
so @DieRuskavalDie, please give us some more information if you want us to understand your issue. because now it seems like the same thing you are complaining about. i'm sure people want to understand your passion
