Even after the release of the unedited concerts, this original double album remains the pinnacle of the Allmans and Southern rock at its most elastic, bluesy, and jazzy.

Personal Note

With my vinyl transfers, I try to catch the whole beauty of vinyl records; therefore I don't use any post-processing or any sound improvement. What you get is a clear and flat transfer. For getting a clear sound, I'll do an extended washing of each record with my RCM, which can take up to 30 minutes brushing on each side. Resistant ticks and clicks I try to remove as good as possible, but the priority is not to lose any musical information in the process. Surface noises, as long they are not too high, are left in place. Only on bad pressings or on records recorded at extremely low levels do I use a fade in-/-out. As John Peel said, "Life is full of surface noises." In some cases this means that I have to make a compromise.... The result has to pass my personal quality criteria, which is IMO quite high.

IMO the Classic Records pressing is the definite version... Compared to other versions it has equal dynamics but more punch and power in the low end.

How/where can one obtain the above-mentioned "unedited" concert??
I have both dual-CD versions which contain 'Whipping Post' segueing directly into 'Mountain Jam,' are there any hires rips available of this sort of collection??
Please PM me if you know...
Thank you...

It says 'Fileserve' and goes to 'Filefactory,' which says the file link does not work...

Yikes. Now I have 3 LP rip copies, two of which I can't afford the space ...

This isn't necessarily my final opinion but first impressions say the Japanese "clearly" seems to have a "smiley-curve" EQ about it (bass and treble boost) not altogether a bad thing here but for some midrange stridency that also sticks out.

The Nautilus is comparatively weaker in bass than either but might just trump the other two due to a better soundstage and a perceived greater overall ease.

This Quiex sure is quiet! And has a really nice balance, too. Can't go wrong with it.
